Q. I used to have a regular galaxy s3 from Sprint but decided to flash it to metro PCs to save some money. I got it flashed and the service is great but the guy who flashed it for me said if I get any messages to update my device to deny it. So I have a few questions
1) is it true that I really shouldn't update my device? I luckily got the 4.3 update before my flash but I was pretty excited about getting the more recent 4.4 which I hear should be coming to s3s soon.
2) what's the difference between flashing and rooting? Did my phone go through both?
3) are there any other precautions I should take because my phone was flashed and/or rooted?

A. there is no official samsung android 4.4 update for Galaxy s3 yet...... but you can still install it
