Q. Hello I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with some general queries I have towards the iPad 2. I recently asked my mum to get me an iPad over a new laptop (which would not be a mac and would have Windows 7) I'm not sure if I've made the right decision and theres still time to change my mind.
Firstly, I'd like to ask if it'd be possible at all for me to connect a USB memory stick to my iPad in order to complete work and such? If so, what would I need to do to enable this? -buy parts and roughly how much would these cost in GBP?
Is the microsoft office suite available for iPad?
After previously having the first generation iPad, and becoming aware that flash player was not available for it, I returned it. Is there anything apple have done about this issue for the iPad 2?
A. The iPad is designed to work on a wireless network and so it does not support USB peripherals. There is a camera connection kit available which does provide a USB connection but there is no guarantee that this would work with a USB memory stick. You pass documents back and forth between devices via the iCloud or similar services such as DropBox. Microsoft have not made a version of Office for the iPad. Apples own Pages application for the iPad can read and write Word .doc files and there is further support for Office formats from Apps such as Documents to Go and Quick Office.
The lack of Flash support on the iPad is not an issue and it will not be supported. It is a buggy security risk that drains battery power for little benefit. Adobe have developed a Flash Media Server that will stream Flash content to an iPad without the need for a Flash Player to be running and many developers are switching to HTML 5 to develop their content which does not require plug in players to work.
Can an iPad have a USB connector?
Q. I am looking for an extension for my iPad I want to connect a USB to my iPad and watch videos on my iPad its basically just for videos and nothing else is there an extension I could buy? Or one with a keyboard and I'm the keyboard was a USB connector would be cool thanks!
Never mind on the USB on the keyboard I Would appreciate it if it was on an adapter directly on the iPad
A. No the only thing that you can connect to the iPad is the charger and the headphones (all apple compatible) I have an iPad 2 and I know what a USB looks like the opening for the charger is way wider than any USB. If the videos are on your iTunes library or on any site that has an app you can access them through the app or for he iTunes library you can just connect the charger to the computer and sync the iPad to the videos. They will be added to the video library. The only way you can get a keyboard for an iPad is if it is Bluetooth compatible. And they usually come with a case. Look for them on amazon the good ones are around 45-50$ just look at the reviews. The way the Bluetooth works is that the iPad has in the general setting a whole thing for the Bluetooth and all you have to do is press sync Bluetooth and you're ready. Warning for keyboards for iPads: they are much smaller than regular keyboards so beware!
does ipad 2 has an usb port?
Q. can an apple ipad 2 have an external memory ?
A. No, but there is a way around this. The iPhone/ipads will never have USB ports built in as it's not supposed to be a laptop replacement just a compliment to one. Howver apple sells what's called a camera connection kit. It's purpose is to be able to connect a camera USB to the iPad so it has the iPad plug in on one side, and the other end accepts USB cables from a camera. The trick here is that you can also connect an external hard drives with a USB to this kit.
