Q. The ps vita is starting to look ugly, 3 hour battery, chunky design, super expensive memory cards and the launch games suck. The galaxy player has 8gb built in, has a better battery life, it can run game emulators, and a 32gb micro sd is like 50$ and a 32gb vita stick is 120$.
Total costs:
32gb vita with no games is almost 400$, 1 game is 40$
40gb galaxy player is 270-300$, plus I can run game emulators
so which should I get?
A. Well it really depends on what u want. If your looking dor a general multimedia expirience and your going tk carry the fldevice around as well as take it on the go you will be better of with the samunsung galaxy player. It has a mich nicer camera, much better speakers and sound quality, a much nicer stock music interfase, its form would male it nicer for web browsing aswell as its screen (sper clear lcd) for picture veiwing and watching movie, it would be also be nicer for social netwkorking becuase of its cAmera form and the android market witch has about 350,000 apps as im typing this. The samung galaxy player is also very good for games with top of the line 3d graphics aswell as 2d graphics. Plus there are hundreds of thousands of different games for it its redicoulous. However with supperior graphics and physical controls the ps vita would be better for simply hardcore gaming(call of duty, battlefield 3, grand theft auto etc... But keep in mind when it comes to android devices the samung galaxy player has tje 2nd fastest gpu making it very good for gaming so when i say the ps viya has better graphics dont think the samung galaxy player doesnt. Think about ot like how the xbox 360 uas better graphics than the ps3. Ut its hardly noticable. And for example the samung galaxy player has twice the graphics performance of the sony xperia play or the playstation phone so if u choose that ober the ps vita and expect to play high graphical 3d games u wont be dissapointed. Plus think about this. The samung galaxy player will have about 5,000 new games in its market to play every month. The Play station vita may recieve 2-5 games every month. So your ultimately getting more games on the samung galaxy player u can even call it unlimited. And u can Pick up a 64 gb card for the samung galaxy player for $199.99 for 72 gb of memory. I am not biased i am simply telling you the facts.
Samsung Galaxy Player or iPod Touch?
Q. I was wondering which should I buy a 4th generation Apple 8GB iPod Touch or a Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0? Please only give me advice between the two devices and no other advice on other devices please. Is the Samsung Galaxy Player hardware better than the iPod touches? For example a faster processor and capable of playing better games etc and being faster? Or is the iPod touch better? Please give me lots of advice on which one I should buy and why. I will give 5 stars to the most detailed best answer. PLEASE HELP ME I DON'T KNOW WHICH TO GET!! THANKS!! :)
A. The Galaxy Player is probably better spec wise, but it's still stuck on an older version of Android. I know you only want to hear between these two, but if you find a Galaxy Player 4.2, get it. It kills both and has ICS support (or so I've read). The iPod has it's ups, but it's not been updated for some time now, and it's getting to the point that even though it will run the latest version of iOS it doesn't support all, if any of the features, this isn't much of an issue now, but come iOS 6, I'm afraid you'll be stuck with the same basic features as the 3GS as it's doubtful you'd get as much as the iPhone 4 feature wise. Overall both are awesome, but I'd give it to the Galaxy as it has better internal hardware, granted the screen isn't super AMOLED, it isn't a deal breaker.
Help with Samsung Android MP3 Player?
Q. I want the samsung galaxy player 4.0, but there seems to be so many other ones by samsung just like it and they all have very confising names with letters and numbers and different sizes and I can't tell which one to get or where to get it or which on is the cheapest, also, any android mp3 player suggestions? Capacitive touchscreen, 2.3(froyo) or above, front and back camera, sd card slot, wifi, bluetooth, 8gb or more built in. Thanks please help!:)
A. Samsung is marketing this product as the "Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and 5.0" in some European, UK, and Asian markets but as the "Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0" in others. In the US, Samsung aborted the launch of a "Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0" in May 2011 after both bestbuy.com and even amazon.com briefly had these products posted as "coming soon" with a price of $239 for the 4.0 model and $269 for the 5.0. The YP-G* model numbers below tend to be more stable than the product names:
Galaxy Player 50 (YP-G50) (NOTE: This is an older model with a < 4" screen)
Galaxy Player 4.0/Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 (YP-G1) (4" screen)
Galaxy Player 5.0/Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 (YP-G70) (5" screen. Also has camera flash)
The following UK sites are a good reference for product specs and you can even download the user manuals if you click on the "support" tab on the upper half of the page:
4" model:
http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/mp3-digital-audio/mobile-internet-players/YP-G1CW/XEU/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail
5" model with camera flash:
http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/mp3-digital-audio/mobile-internet-players/YP-G70CW/XEU/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail
It's hard to find, but this samsung.com/us page has a PDF user manual for the 4" model:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/YP-G1CW/XAA
Also on samsung.com/us is this site with an add for the Galaxy Player at the top of the page, but I'm not sure whether this page is fully supported:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/mp3-players/
Samsung is being sued by Apple http://sammyhub.com/2011/07/06/apple-files-us-itc-complaint-against-samsung/ , so this may be contributing to the US product launch delay. The problem for consumers is that Samsung is not good about communicating with customers regarding product launch details. If this were Apple, Steve Jobs would have been grooming the press releases with a showman's flare, but Samsung does not have an iconic figure to hawk its wares.
Bottom line, the 4" and 5" models' hardware combination (stereo speakers, GPS, phone friendly ear speaker for VOIP apps, much better back camera, vibration feedback for gaming and silent alarms, expandable memory, self-replaceable battery, etc.) trounces the iPod Touch 4th Generation (although the iPod's screen resolution is higher). Sadly, the US market must simply wait for Samsung to get its marketing act together and let us know what is going on with this exciting new line of Android-based personal media players.
