Q. So I have been wanting to get a tablet for awhile. I have a laptop for more intensive work/ study needs.
I have narrowed down my search to either the Samsung galaxy note 8.0 or 10.1.
The size, weight, resolution, and general layout of the 8.0 really appeals to me, but I really want to use this for note taking in class ( hand written) and digital drawing.
Is the 8.0 big enough for this, or should I just go for the 10.1? And are there any other key differences between the two?
Any artists out there used both?
And what store would be a good place to try these out in person?
Thanks!
p.s. the price difference does make a difference, but I figure that if I'm gonna drop that kind of cash, I should get what I really want, so please leave that out of the consideration.
* I'm not just wanting it for note taking and drawing, web browsing, picture and music storage, and all of the other features will be fully utilized.
Man, I messed that up.

A. Galaxy note 10.1 is just the bigger screen size of Galaxy note 8.0. The advantages of galaxy note 8 is that it is much portable and you can carry around with you. The screen resolution of Galaxy note 8 is bit better also.
Comments on Galaxy note 10.1 from an actual user, would definitely be helpful on this decision:

college sophomore. Samsung galaxy tab 2 or Galaxy note 10.1?
Q. I can't decide between the two. I really like the features of the note as I will be taking plenty of notes but I also like the tab 2 and I feel like I could probably find apps on google play to allow me to use the stylus on it....maybe, maybe not? you tell me.
Also, I sort of decided super last minute that a tablet would be way more beneficial to me than a clunky, new laptop. school starts for me on the aug. 19, and if i order a tablet online now i should get it that same day or the next. Problem is i'm ordering all my books to be the online version.
Is there a way I could transfer the books from like my laptop to my new tablet when it comes? sorry i'm kinda new to this & if it matters any, i'm taking all online this semester.
A. Hi. If you have the budget, I do recommend you to choose the Galaxy Note 10.1. But if you wish to do all stuff in a lower price then galaxy tab 3 10.1 would be the best option.
The S-Note app and S-Pen are basically optimized for Note taking on galaxy note to make the process much easier for you.
Whereas on Galaxy tab 3 you can also use stylus but you wont be able to find the S-Note app on it.
Comments on Galaxy tab 3 10.1 - detailed review (mentions few must have apps also):

Note has advantages like the better processor, RAM and the split screen option where you can just work two apps side-by-side on same screen which is pretty cool and useful.
Hope this helped!
What is the difference between the samsung galaxy tab and samsung galaxy note 10.1?
Q.
A. The Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with the S Pen (a Wacom-based pen) that lets you write notes or draw pictures. It comes with free Photoshop Touch and Polaris Office. It also lets you run two apps side-by-side. So, you can be browsing the web on one half the screen and have you notes app open on the other half to take notes on what you're reading online.
The Galaxy tab does not have any of the above features, but it is still a great tablet. It is much cheaper because it does not have the expensive Wacom digitizer screen for the pen.
So, if you want to draw or take notes and like running two apps at once, go with the Note 10.1. If you just want a regular tablet for browsing the web and using apps, the Galaxy Tab will be good enough.
