Q.
A. Windows Mobile Device Center is the new name in Windows Vista replacing Microsoft ActiveSync®, and provides overall device management features for your Windows Mobile powered devices for Windows Vista. Previous versions of Microsoft ActiveSync will not install or run on Windows Vista. All of the features previously available in Microsoft ActiveSync are available in Windows Mobile Device Center, including setting up your desktop partnership and synchronization with the desktop.
Is Windows Vista actually Windows mobile?
Q. Will pocket pc programs run under Vista, will desktop applications run under Vista?
A. Windows Vista and Windows Mobile are completely different. Windows Vista is the successor to Windows XP. Windows Vista is for desktop/laptop systems and not PDAs and the like.
Facebook on Windows Mobile 6.0?
Q. I'm trying to log into the regular facebook website (not the "m." mobile site) on my verizon (HTC) XV6800 phone with windows mobile 6.0. When I enter my email and password, the page seems to transmit and load, but a momnt later, the data count appears as "0 KB" and the login still shows, as if refreshed. I've read the facebook help for this and it mentions cookies. The only cookie option I see on IE in WM6 is to enable them. Could there be any other issue at hand? Thanks in advance!
A. Unfortunately, on windows mobile internet explorer, it cannot handle the features of the full facebook website, including, but not limited to, the javascript features and the "excessive scripting".
If you have enabled the cookies but it still doesn't work, then mobile IE will not be able to handle the page.
You could try another mobile browser, such as Opera, but the odds of it working are slim (it doesn't work on my mobile device either).
That's why m.facebook.com is used on mobile devices :P
