A. any headphones that have a 3.5mm jack will work with any socket capable of recieving that size of jack the same goes with all head phones if the socket is big enough yes

Q. When I wear my headphones/headset that came with my samsung Galaxy s4, I get noise when the microphone drags across my shirt collar and such. I'd like to know if there is some setting I can change in my options on my phone or something to reduce the noise from the mic.
A. Not really. This often happens depending on the quality of the microphone used.
You can use a wire wrapper or simply make a loop just below your chin to keep the mic off your collar.
Changing adjustments like sensitivity will work great in a quiet environment but the day you're out among people and/or traffic and people cant hear you, you'll probably feel like throwing the thing under a bus.

A. You should not have to enable the microphone on the headphones. They automaticly work without any need other than to plug the headphones into the phone. If it does not work the you can make sure the plug is fully inserted. If that still doesn't work then the headphones may be damaged. I assume that no modification to the phone was done such as installing new roms because then there is a good chance the developer may of made mistake. If your phone has not been modified then that does not relate to your issue
If you meant that you want to have the ability to hear the microphone on the headphones then you should look for an app that has the ability to do that. Im sure there is an app for that.
