Q. Hi i was thinking of buying the Samsung galaxy s3 and was informed that it had a great video recorder but a junk audio recorder. id probably be using the video recording for small venue concerts and local recording stuff. would it work if i added a 3.5 condenser mic to the phones headphone jack?
Thanks.
A. The smartphone's mic jack portion of the headphone plug is not connected to the recording side of the video capture convenience feature. You can plug a mic in there, but the audio will not be recorded onto the video captured - so no, what you want to do will not work.
Also, smartphones usually do not have any way to control the audio gain when recording. If the audio you plan to record at "small venue concerts" is loud, it is likely the recorded audio will be muddy and full of static as the auto audio gain control cannot keep up with the too-loud audio of the performance.
One option is to use an separate digital audio recorder (like a Zoom H2). When the video is being edited, import the audio recorded by the external audio recorder, synch with the video, then mute the audio captured by the smartphone.
Microphone stopped working?
Q. Hello there lads! So I bought a Samsung Galaxy S III 2 months ago. The phone's microphone was working perfectly. Now it stopped working. The people on the other side can not hear me. I did root my phone because I though some bull sh*t at&t applications were using up a lot of space. I only deleted application like the maps and crap. The Mic only works if I plug headphones in (with a mic). I did root my phone. I did drop it once but that was a month ago. The mic was still working a few weeks after that. So did I just destroy the mic or is there anyway to manually turn on/off the mic. Thank you in advance (Oh and as soon as you root your phone, you warranty with you service provider is over).

Is there something wrong with my phine's microphone?
Q. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on October 16 and eveything worked fine. I called people with this phone at least 5 times since i text a lot, but today my sister called me and I heard her, but she cant hear me. At first I thought there was something wrong with her phone, but when I called my other sister, she couldnt hear me. Then i called my mom and she couldnt hear me either, but i can hear all of them. When i use an earphone, they can hear me, but when i unplugged it, they cant. I know my phone is not on mute since i checked it a lot of times, and when i recorded a video, i can hear my voice. So it cant be the microphone... I dont know.if you guys have this problem, let me know. I plan on going to a local tmobile store in the next two days and askt hem about it. I also dont want to reset my phone. Its such a hassel to redownload everything and setting the device up. Thank you.
If we're both on speakerphone, she can hear me. If she turns off her speakerphone while im still on mine, she can hear me. However, when i turn off my speakerphone and she turns hers on, she cannot hear me. Then we both turned off our speakerphones and I can hear her, but she cant hear me. It's a new phone too. Do you think tmobile will replace it for free? I bought it last month. Its not even a month old yet.
I meant phone, not phine.
A. Hello!
I am mobile Repairing engineer! This problem is happened only when Micro Mic or Headphone Connecting pin is demage, but I'll tell u in very simple ways to check weather your phone MIC is Demage or ur Headphone connecting pin,
1st step, During calling, switch to Loud speaker Mode, If someone is still not hearing ur Voice, that its means ur Micro Mic is Demage, (Change it 100% solution solve)
2nd step, Hearing ur voice only in Loud Speaker Mode, That its means, ur Headphone Connector Pin is demage (Try cleaning inner area or replace to repair new pin, 100% solution solve)
...............................Thank You!
