Yes, but it will be a slow charge, especially if it is on.
Two reasons for that. 1) USB is normally current-limited, meaning devices are not supposed to pull a lot of power without permission. Apple and Samsung use different methods of checking, so an Apple cable/charger will charge the note slowly. 2) an iphone charger is weaker than a tablet charger and can only provide half of what the device wants, even with the right cable.

Q. Hello, I'm having a serious problem with my Samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1, it just won't charge. When I put the plug in there's just a red cross appearing on the battery icon and it don't charge. I've tried to charge it on many outlets but it still wasn't working. Now my tablet is almost dead (3%) and the charger is just keeping the brightness on the screen but isn't charging the device. What should I do?!? Thanks in advance.
A. i have the same problem and i still have it however, i do have a way to charge it as a matter efact i have 2 ways you can lock it and low the screen britness and turn off most everything or just shut it down completely i will charge much faster and try calling samsung and ask for a new charger it you havent had it for a year.

A. The Black Screen of Death has been a problem with Samsung products for several years. They have yet to provide a fix. This works some of the time.
Remove the battery. Count to ten, and then replace the battery and turn it on. If it comes on, let it update and then use as normal.
If this did not get your device working again, take it to the Samsung dealer.
To prevent future occurrences of the Black Screen of Death, turn your Samsung device off once a day so it can clear what ever is causing the problem. Most people reboot when they plug the device into the charger each day.
