A. From Best Buy website and I do remember seeing the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 at their stores, the Samsung Galaxy Tablet 8.9 is only a Wi-Fi device. It does not have any 3G data internet option. You would need to be in a Wi-Fi hotspot location such as Coffee shops, barnes and noble bookstores, mcdonald, restaurants or your house network to get internet access.
All android tablets (running 2.2, 2.3, 3.0 and 4.0 versions and higher) have the capability to send and receive sms and picture messaging. It depends on the app that you can download from android marketplace for free.

However, if you're looking to game on an Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a bad idea. I recommend the Google Nexus 7, which runs the latest version of Android (4.1 Jellybean) and can play all the games out on the market. The tablet is only $199.
