Kindle warranty question?
Q. If I purchase a kindle off of an external website, such as glyde(Look it up, great website) Or Ebay, and there is a minor defect, say scratch on screen, or glitch in software, could you send it to amazon and have them repair it, or would you HAVE to have a warranty?
A. I believe the warranty is transferrable if it hasn't expired. For example, if you bought a kindle and it's less than a year old, I am pretty sure Amazon would repair it if it's broken.
I do not think Amazon will repair a scratched screen under warranty even if you purchased the kindle brand new, since that is something that was not a manufacturer's defect. Oh they may fix it, but you would have to pay as opposed to getting it covered under warranty.
Here's something to try though, go to amazon.com and speak to them. They would be best able to tell you what is or isn't covered.
Kindle Warranty Question?
Q. I'm looking to buy a Kindle but I need it fast so I'm probably going to purchase it at Target because even with 1 day shipping, it'll take a week on Amazon. There's a great 2 year extended warranty on Amazon for the Kindle. My question is, even though I may buy the Kindle from another vendor, would the warranty still be valid or do I have to buy the Kindle directly from Amazon for the warranty to work? Thanks a bunch in advance.
A. it would still be valid, i would check with Amazon.com by contacting custoemr service. Click below to go to the Kindle Store, then click "contact us" on the bottom.
I love answering kindle questions, it's by far one of my favorite devices that i keep in my bag.
For starters and most importantly I own the Kindle 2 (soon to be upgrading to the Kindle DX), and it is easy for me to say I love it! I think I've read over 20 books so far.
There are other reviews on the Kindle 2 here:

And for the Kindle DX:

I love my Kindle because it has helped me improve a lot on my efficiency and utilize my time. Before I owned the Kindle, waiting time like when I'm waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some thing like that is simply wasted. Now I just need to bring the Kindle 2 along with me. Another thing I like the most is the text-to-speech function, which means I can "read" books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I've myself busy on some boring things, say when I'm on the step machine or doing some housework...
I like reading and at the beginning I missed a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seems to work very well, it is really like reading books... Now I often read with the Kindle for several hours but I don't feel tired.
I linked your directly to the Kindle Store on amazon.com! I really do hope you consider getting your own =)
