Q. Heya. Im looking at buying myself either a Google Nexus one or Samsung Galaxy S. Im really not sure which one to get. Came here in the hope somebody would be able to tell me why to choose one over the other. Any advice really. thanks
A. Two words - Nexus One. Nexus One is much more well made, has a better UI (Vanilla Android as opposed to the rather rubbish TouchWiz on the Galaxy S) and gets earlier firmware updates than any other Android phone. Nexus One also has an LED flash camera, which the Galaxy S doesn't. I bought a Galaxy S to replace my Nexus One but was very disappointed, and decided to return it to the store for an iPhone 4 (although I haven't let the iPhone 4 replace my Nexus One, and still use the Nexus One as my main phone.) Google and it's partner HTC will support and will keep on supporting the Nexus One for about a year more, while Samsung will kill off the Galaxy S in a month or two by depriving it of firmware updates and instead launching a new model that also sucks.
All this being said, a HTC EVO 4G would be a more advanced and modern choice as the Nexus One is getting a little dated now.
which phone for tmobile is better? samsung galaxy s3?google nexus 4? or samsung note 2?
Q. cant decide on which to get :/
want your opinions thanks! which would you get?
A. Dont get the Nexus 4! Ill attach a list at the bottom why not too( its really long). Aside from the size difference of the S3 and the Note 2. The Note 2 has the fastest processor and can add 32GB additional storage, but the S3 can add 64GB. It really comes down to the size though. The Note 2 is huge.
Why not to buy a Nexus 4
(1) Lack of availability is the biggest disadvantage the Nexus smartphone faces right now and has irked consumers waiting eagerly for it
(2) The lack of a usable LTE radio has garnered some criticism. The LG Nexus 4's LTE radio is not activated and only uses HSPA+ with a theoretical peak speed of 42 Mbps, compared to the 100 Mbps that can be achieved with LTE
(3) Users have also complained of a constant buzzing in the earpiece of the LG Nexus 4. 'When listening to earpiece, one can hear buzzing and clicking.
(4) battery life is terrible!
(5) Screen uses old technology(LCD). Most new phones use OLED.
(6)The camera uses 1.12-micron photocells, which are a significant downgrade from the 1.4 used in the iPhone and S3
(7)Lack of additional storage via sd
(8) lack of impact zone in build quality, which means its more likely to do some damage to the board, if dropped.( refer to 2nd link)
(9) There are issues with the Jelly bean 4.2 Update that are causing instability and constant rebooting.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus?
Q. As of now i have the Droid Incredible by HTC I have been somewhat happy with this phone. Not a bad one in my opinion. But With the Galaxy Nexus coming out i am very interested in getting this phone. I already know a lot about this phone but i would like to know if this phone would be a good buy and why? Also any other suggestions of other phones that are top of the line? I am with Verizon Wireless. Thanks
A. Yes get it. It has the newest android os ICS, a huge 720p screen, can record in 1080p, and its a google branded phone like all the other nexuses which means it will be getting all the updates pretty much the second they come out.
