Q. I have a tmobile Samsung Galaxy S that I don't use anymore because I switched networks to Sprint. I currently have an iPhone and an LG Optimus on the Sprint network. I was wondering if there was anything I can do to use the Galaxy S on the Sprint network because I love that phone. I was figuring that since the LG Optimus and the Galaxy S are both Androids, something could be done.
I have heard of jailbreaking and rooting so, I was wondering if that would work. I really want to be able to use my Galaxy again so, if there is anything I can do let me know. Thanks!!
A. You can root your Samsung Galaxy S, here is a tutorials to walk you through, please note that rooting your phone will void your carrier warranty but this is reparable, here's the tutorials:
How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 Running Android 2.3.6 XXJVU Firmware

Note:
Rooting will not unlock you phone, here's a method (video) to unlock your Samsung Galaxy S I9000 for free: Samsung Galaxy S Free Unlock How-To http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g94eTJWW444.
Another method would be to contact you carrier and ask them to unlock ot for you, I think in some countries carrier give away unlock codes after a number of months of subscription.
iphone 4s or Samsung galaxy 3?!?!?!?!?
Q. upgrade is in a week and i dont know what to get. I think i should get the iPhone becasue of i always wanted to facetime with my friends. I also like siri. But the galaxy 3 looks good too and has 4g.and i had the droid incredible and liked android. but i have a kindle fire and wont really use it to watch videos and stuff so what should i get?
A. I have the iPhone 4S. Both of the phones have an 8MP camera. The Galaxy 3 has "S Voice" which is basically their version of Siri. Don't hate on me, I'm just saying the layout is very similar to Siri. K.
I think you can FaceTime as well on androids, so that's not a problem. Battery life is better on androids as well even though I don't experience major battery drainage on my iPhone. I used it all through the day. Reading books, Tweeting, Facebook-ing, listening to music, etc. I play games sometimes.
Uh, the App Store has a lot of different apps for you to choose from that android may have and vice versa. The GS3 has a 4.8" screen display and the 4S has a 3.5" so big difference there. I personally don't care for big screens. They're nice, but not for me. You may be different so I can't say anything about that.
Looks....that doesn't really matter, but they are both nice phones with sleek designs. Even though the 4S has the same design as the iPhone 4, which is 2 years old, it doesn't dull in comparison to phones that just came out this year. The iphone is made of aluminosilicate glass and stainless steel as Siri says :P. I'm not sure what the Galaxy is made of. I believe it is plastic with a gorilla glass 2 screen...?? Yeah, that's it. The Galaxy is 133g and the iPhone is 140g, so it is considerably heavier. The plastic on the GS3 makes it lighter, which you may like.
Overall, I can't really pick the phone for you. Choose which one you feel like you'd rather be in a 2 Year Contract with. Or even if you get it unlocked. Which phone would keep you entertained and do what you need to do. Good luck! Both are great phones, but the Galaxy is ahead of the iPhone so....it's your choice! :)
Unlocked Iphone 3g VS Samsung Vibrant galaxy?
Q. What do you think i should get?
I know iphones are reliable BUT, i am an android fan and on the vibrant you can watch movies and play SIMS lol (: Let me know what you guys think.....
A. iphone 3g vs Samsung Vibrant
iphone(left side) vibrant (right)
2mp cam. vs 5mp cam
3.5" screen vs 4.0" screen
nothing vs. preloaded with avatar
no front camera vs front camera
heavier vs lighter
rumored 600 mHz vs 1 gHz(1000mHz)
appstore vs android market
standard touch qwerty keyboard vs qwerty &Swype
wifi vs wifi
att vs tmobile
3g vs 3g
long battery(for a regular phone) vs ok-decent battery
clearly, the vibrant is much better, though android apps can be more buggy than apple's
the iphone feels much more "good-quality" hold in your hand, and the vibrant has a light, cheap-ish platic feeling. but I think that the "feel" does not matter, only the features
Hope this Helps!
