What's the best case for the Samsung Galaxy S III?
Q. I have a Samsung Galaxy S III that I got over the summer and absolutely LOVE.
When I got it, I also got an Otterbox Defender case which is awesome, but I can never get it off which is an issue when I need to take out the battery and whatnot...so I'm in the market for a new case. I want something with great protection, but something that's easy to install/remove.
Any suggestions?
A. I got a Belkin Grip Sheer on Amazon. It fits like a gel skin but it is a nice material that easily slides in and out of my pocket. Very easy to remove to change batteries. Looks great too. Only $13.50 on Amazon right now.
iPhone 4S or Samsung Galaxy S III?
Q. I would appreciate an honest, cogent, answer.
My take:
I am a fan of Apple's products, they're slick, innovative, aesthetically pleasing, feature a BROAD range of apps in its AppStore, etc. (not to mention the HUNDREDS of stylish cases out there for you to truly make your iPhone 4S somewhat unique from others!) -- At the same time, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is also aesthetically pleasing, it includes the latest version of Android (Jelly bean 4.0), it has a larger display than the iPhone 4S, higher resolution, and 4G LTE capability.
That said, I'm pleased by both. And I'm having trouble deciding on which one to get.
A. The IPhone has never really been a good choice for the price. The functionality of it is horrible. I have owned a couple iPhones. I bought the Samsung Galaxy S II the day it came out. I have dropped, kicked, stepped on (I weight 325 lbs), and threw at a metal door very hard in attempts to use an insurance claim on the Galaxy S 2. I dropped the thing in my swimming pool. Went down about 4 feet and hit the bottom. I took the battery out, let it dry for a day, and it still worked just fine. The damage I've done to it is physically ugly, but the phone has NEVER skipped a beat. I tried to break it by throwing it against a metal door multiple times to break it. I only wanted to use an insurance claim because it was so beat up, not because the functionality was compromised.
On the side of the iPhone.... if you drop them wrong on carpet, the screen spiderwebs. If you bump it too hard, it locks up. The iPhone is not designed with the consumer in mind. It is designed to look 'cool' and comes with a hefty, unwarranted price tag.
I have not had the chance to 'play' with the new iPhone, or the new Galaxy. However, my past experiences has allowed me to vow to never pay for an iPhone again. Ever.
