Q. Okay, i got my Kindle Fire for Christmas. It's registered and everything. But im trying to buy a FREE APP and it sais :
"""There was an error purchasing ___. Please Click here to add an address to your account. (this will open your browser) and try again.""""
So when i clicked the link, it just went to my amazon account, and i dont know what they mean by address. i Already have an e-mail address registered to my kindle. so what kind of address? I REALLY want apps, and other stuff, so im confused? Thanks
A. Hi Cherry, this is only one of known problems with that lemon Kindle Fire you got. Other issues with Fire are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is a fake where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, etc. Also, when Fire is activated it allows for 1-Click shopping through the account connected to the device, and such behavior cannot be turned off. Additionally the device asks for no confirmation password before validating the purchase, which means that if anyone gets hold of the device, he can purchase things at will. it is confirmed that Prime movies can't be downloaded, only streamed, making them impossible to watch without Wi-Fi on Kindle Fire. Also, on Fire when the Silk internet browser is pointed at the Android market, it reverts to the Amazon market with much more limited content. Amazon's own web site has hundreds of reviews (more than 1700 already) of Kindle Fire's new owners that gave it 1 or 2 star reviews because of choppy/laggy experience they got from this underpowered device.
You might want to consider returning it and getting Nook Tablet instead - it is much better without a doubt, it's a class above Kindle Fire. All pro reviewers on the web clearly voiced that Nook Tablet is a much better device with superior performance compared to Kindle Fire. It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids, etc., the best battery life (30% better than Fire), the best non-glare laminated screen (not lamination on Fire), double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies than on Fire, microSD slot and a microphone for Skype (not on Fire), physical volume controls on the side (not on Fire), very smooth video playback with excellent screen, and very fast apps load (unlike on Fire).
Here's the sample pro review on the subject:
CNET:
We streamed Netflix side by side with the Kindle Fire, and head-to-head comparisons were very favorable to the Nook--it simply looked better. Both tablets have the same app, but the Nook Tablet's picture looked more vivid and detailed. The Nook Tablet also has physical volume controls on the side, which come in handy--the Kindle Fire strangely lacks them. The screen, which is a higher-quality IPS display than the Kindle Fire, really shows off Netflix and Hulu Plus to amazing effect...
It's the best screen on a budget tablet that I've ever seen. More storage--both onboard (16GB) and via microSD expansion--and the ability to read EPUB files could be big news for those who want flexibility. There's plenty of expansion room, and you'll have a hard time running out of space for your apps or your magazine downloads.
Kindle fire free apps daily?
Q. is it true amazon gives a free paid app daily? and do you get to pick that 1 app or does amazon take one app and make it free to everyone? and also i heard the silk browser isnt doesnt offer much privacy, is it possible to download another browser like chrome or opera, and would that help get some privacy back? thanks and if possible rate the overall performance and satisfactory of the kindle fire from 1-10
A. Yes, they are giving away one commercial app a day. Not sure how long they plan to do it but it's great.
You can see which one it is each day here (forwards to right place on amazon):

It's a specific app - not one you can choose.
Regarding the browser: You can load opera as an alternative, and it is more private. You just have to change the settings to "install apps from unknown sources" and then you can point your kindle browser to handango.com and download the opera app for android - and follow the instructions after it downloads to install it. Opera is also faster, which is another perk.
Another tip, if your in the market, you can get a good deal on the kindle fire here:

The kindle fire is an amazing deal, considering it gives you just about everything in a single package, meaning ability to run android apps, great media library from amazon, and a web browser that supports flash (which the ipad can't even do). Considering it cost so much less and can do more than the ipad it's a crazy deal.
I'm pretty thrilled with mine so I would rate it either a 9 or 10, but maybe i'm too easy to please :).
Apple apps to kindle fire help!?
Q. I have to download two apps for an economics course and my teacher told my class to purchase the apps from apple, they're called Ap Micro review and Ap Macro Review, but, I do not have an apple product that can access these apps nor an iphone, all I have is my kindle. Is there a way to still be able to get these apps from itunes to my kindle fire?
A. I'm sorry, but you can't run Apple apps on the Kindle Fire. Apps from Apple / iTunes can only be used on Apple devices. Try to ask your teacher to see if there's alternative for the Kindles.
Actually you can look up for the apps in the Amazon Appstore. Or if it can be found in Google Play appstore, then you can try to sideload the apps to your Kindle Fire. Here's a detailed discussion on how to sideload the apps on the Kindle:
