Q. If I add a person to my phonebook and they have WhatsApp the WhatsApp icon will obviously appear, but it appears on a seperate tile (if that makes sense). For example,
"John" *SIM logo* (then underneath it another "John" will appear with the WhatsApp logo).
"John" *WhatsApp logo*
How do you put it on one tile so "John" will appear once, with the *SIM logo* and WhatsApp logo appearing next to each other. (My friend has done it on his Galaxy but I don't think he knows how he did it).
NB: it takes up so much space, for example, if I had 20 contacts, it'd show 40 because of the WhatsApp and is really annoying.
Thank you, have a great day ahead :)
I tried selecting and holding the name on my contacts but "Join Contacts" doesn't work for SIM, it only works for the WhatsApp logo to join to WhatsApp contacts together.
A. 1. Tap and hold "John" *Sim logo*
2. A context menu should pop up after a second.
3. Tap Join Contacts
4. A new menu pops up.
5. Select "John" *WhatsApp logo*
6. Done.
Edit:
Oh, now I get it. The "normal" contacts are not saved on the phone but on the SIM card.
I regret to inform you, that most smartphones save contact data to SIM cards in a very generic format. Android cannot join contacts that are saved on the SIM card with other contacts and WhatsApp saves its contact info on the phone.
To join your SIM Contacts with your WhatsApp contacts you need to transfer the contacts form your SIM card to the phone's memory first, like this:
1. Go to Apps through Home screen.
2. Scroll to Contacts, then tap on it.
3. Tap on the Contact tab.
4. Tap on Menu key.
5. On the pop up menu select Import/Export.
6. Tap on Import from SIM card.
7. Tap on Phone.
8. Tap on Select all.
9. Tap on Done button.
With any luck the contacts stored on the phone and your WhatsApp contacts have already synced automatically. That leaves the contacts stored on your SIM card still showing up as double entries:
1. Go to Apps through Home screen.
2. Scroll to Contacts, then tap on it.
3. Tap on the Contact tab.
4. Tap on Menu key.
5. On the pop up menu select Contacts to display.
6. Tap on Phone.
7. Done.
I hope that helped.
