Q. I like rpg games such as Disgaea or Final Fantasy.
Should I expect iPad's games to be as good as these?
A. Not really. Although the iPad has the potential to be a serious gaming system, two things will prevent it from becoming one. The first is that the audience just isn't the gaming crowd. Let's face it, there really aren't too many hardcore gamers who own Apple products, especially since most Apple products aren't compatible with most games. The second factor is the price. Where you can get a PSP for $200, an iPad costs three times that amount. Oh yeah, and nobody wants a portable gaming system the size of a sheet of paper.
That being said, there are very few "professional quality" games on the iPad and iPod Touch. There are a few exceptions to the rule, like Zenonia, but for the most part the iPad is not on the same level as the PSP and DS.
iPad as a gaming platform?
Q. I read in the Economist that Apple is hoping the iPad will eventually become a gaming platform, in addition to its other uses. I need a computer and am kind of considering the new tablet, but I'm also a total geek about Starcraft. Does anyone know if there will be some way to play Starcraft (and its upcoming sequel) on the iPad, or is that some future goal a ways away?
A. Think of iPad as a 10" iPod Touch, not as a laptop. It will not have the computing power, speed, or graphics card needed to support 90% of games (including Starcraft 2). It will be able to support many iPod Touch apps, but except for those, it is mainly a portable touchscreen web browser.
what are the best Ipad games?
Q. I have an Ipad 2 and I have some cool games, but I want to know some other cool free games. I already have temple run, jetpack joyride and bejeweled.
A. Ever been to the bar and played those touch screen games? Those are fun and addicting!
One of my favorite games at the bar is "What's The Difference"... I play the erotic version lol.
Basically there's two almost identical pictures side by side and you have to find the 5 differences between the pictures while the clock is ticking.
This game is free, has 3 different modes and is extremely competitive, addicting and fun to play with other friends around because they can help out as bystanders.
If you've already played it, I need not to explain any further.
Other great free games that I like and are multi-player online games with friends are:
Scramble with Friends
Gems with Friends
Matching with Friends
Draw Something
Tapped Out
SongPop
Tap Tap
DOOORS
Hoped that helps!
