none of the other iPads came with earbuds or earpods.

A. I don't think it would work with earbuds. Try the big headphones instead. So yes get good headphones for ipad

I tested out both ipad mini and the samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0, i have to admit the ipad mini has the best display as far as clarity is concern, fast to get to the apps ,touch is ten times better swype across the screen, gaming is better on it but still no flash , as a matter of fact flash support for android should end soon going to html 5, charging in fast for ipad mini, the samsung galaxy tab 2 has a brilliant display , flash support , good at gaming , fair as far as getting to apps quicker , great wifi, good webcam the older model had the best webcam, a so-so sound system even with the earbuds plugs in, ipad is a little better, and it is true more mac apps but a lot you pay for compared to android apps which a very lot are free, to sum it up i like the samsung because it cheaper and since owning a older model never had any real wireless or overheat problems as the ipads had a while back, very conservative and not overated and awaiting for the samsung to get back in stock at walmart for the price for my older samsung tablet upgrade
