A. glaxy s is much more powerful then iphone 4 in allmost all ways...
1st:
galaxy s is 4''super AMOLED.(iphone4 is 3.5 S-LCD)
galaxy s supports upto 32GB cardslot.(iphone4 doesnt have a card slot)
galaxy s is 116g while iphone is 139g(havier).
galaxy s is bluetooth3.0 with A2DP(advance audio distribution profile,for more sound rate & better speed) while iphone4 is bluetooth2.1.
RAM & camera is allmost same of both of these.

android vs iOS.
now doubt iOS is one of the most leading OS of mobile communications but now it's time is allmost gone.now it is the time for android to takeover the iOS appstore.i m not saying this,it si trough an authentic source,
other then all this comparison,samsung galaxy had sold more then 14 million Galaxy S phones globally.The galaxy s was named the European Smartphone of the Year at the European Imaging and Sound Association Awards 2010-2011.
so,i difinitly go with samsung galaxy s.
(if u have real money to spend then go for Samsung Galaxy S II)

A. There is the Gingerbread (2.3) update that came out a long time. But if I'm correct, you can only upgrade through Samsung Kies. Hope this helped.

- The screen is incredible. Very bright and the colours are outstanding, and just the perfect size.
