Q. So I am looking to buy a otterbox armor case for my galaxy S3, but for some reason I can find all sorts of ones for the iPhone, but I cant find any for the GS3. Has the case not been released for the GS3 yet or something?
A. That is correct, for the time being, Otterbox does not have a case for the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Tips?
Q. So i am upgrading from my iPhone 4S to a Galaxy S4 in a couple days. And i was wondering, is there anything i need to know before buying? I know it has a plastic feeling and the cameras really good. So keep away from those topics.
Also i'm curious as to if the Galaxy S4 will be supported for at least 2 years.
A. Get a good data plan.
Get a good case. Don't crimp on this. Protect the Precious.
It's big. Stick it next to an iPhone and it is comical. Big toys consume power. Investigate 2nd or external battery (one of the true benefits). I went with an Otterbox Defender case and an external battery.
7 pages of 16 icons/page get used up quickly. Put a folder system in place for organization. I'd take everything that was on the pages from Samsung/Phone provider and stick it in a folder. As you become comfortable with the phone, be sure to explore these apps. I find something like Apps Organizer is slightly better than stock folders, but it is a pain to setup and it can crash, requiring a hard reset.
Take control of WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and Data. They waste power and can cost you money. I use SmartWiFi toggler.
Check out virus scanners for security and apps which monitor your privacy.
There's lots of good apps out there. Don't be afraid to explore. I'd leave 1 page for new apps and experimentation. Use something like Fetch to find similar apps (very ad driven but it does the job). Something like BAM (very ad driven) is good for finding popular or trending apps. If I need to do something, I find an app on BAM or Play, and letch Fetch find similar. I experiment with the offerings and keep the best. Usually if the free app does what I want, I purchase the pro version after a trial period.
Check out Android or Samsung user forums to keep you current. I like Drippler because it filters news for S4.
One app I love is DashClock for lockscreen and daydream. In daydream mode it gives me a clock and updates while charging. You wake up and you know instantly whats what.
As for support, I don't believe you have to worry about that. There will probably be 4 new Samsungs but it will be supported.
And guess what, it is even a phone....
Do any of the otterbox cases fit the samsung galaxy prevail?
Q. Theres no case specifically designed for the prevail
A. Not directly. Each otterbox is made to fit a specific model, and pretty much every model covered is higher end phones. The Galaxy Prevail is a lower end smartphone, and as such has no dedicated line of accessories.
