A. The iPad 4 is what you see on Apple's site ("iPad with Retina display"). They're the same thing.
So far there have been 4 generations, iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3 "The New iPad", and iPad 4.
I own an iPad 4, I would highly recommend it!
In comparison to the iPad 3, the processor on the iPad 4 is twice as fast.
The front facing camera is 1.2 MP HD camera (instead of 0.3 MP standard definition)

Q. My kindle fire's charger port broke so I'm planning on buying an ipad since my year warranty on the kindle is over. But with the ipad mini out and ipad 4 with retina display plus the upcoming Ipad 5 and ipad mini 2, I don't know what to buy. I am a game, app, movie/tv show fanatic and I'm sure I would love the larger screen on the ipad 4 or ipad 5. But the portibility of the ipad mini seems good. My teachers let me use my kindle to take notes in class so I was thinking that since the sizes are similar, It'd be easy to carry anywhere. So I need opinions. Should I buy Ipad 4 with retina display or wait for Ipad mini 2 (supposedly with retina) or ipad 5 (haven't heard much about this). The prices> the ipad mini 2 seems the most appealing compared to the others, but I don't want to buy it then end up regretting not buying a tablet with a larger screen to watch my favorite movies in HD. I really need some opinions here. It would help a lot. I find the ipad mini much "cuter" but the ipad 4 or 5's large screen is very appealing to me. Thank you!!

the iPad mini is basically the iPad 2,But smaller,and with 4G,so just go with the iPad 4.
