Q.
A. The iPad keyboard dock problem is a known design flaw. It's been around since last year when many of the affected users had to reconnect the iPad to the keyboard dock multiple times before they could make it work. The problem is with the dock, not the iPad.
One option is to get it replaced by calling Apple. The other (which worked for me) is to insert a 12" plastic ruler between the keyboard dock and the back of the iPad. This ensures that the iPad stands erect and doesn't get randomly disconnected from the dock.
Can I hook up keyboard to iPad dock?
Q. Hey!! I don't want to spend all that money on the iPad 2 keyboard dock. I was wondering if when I just buy the dock itself, would I be able to hook up my standard Mac keyboard (has wires) to an adaptor through the dock?
Thank you!
A. Yes, any bluetooth keyboard will work. I use a bluetooth keyboard designed for an iMac on my iPhone and iPad to send out emails.
iPad keyboard dock or wireless keyboard?
Q. Should I get the iPad wireless keyboard or the keyboard dock?? they are the same price so just what would you recomend? Thank you!!
A. I would recommend a wireless keyboard. Since it wont limit you to the portrait orientation, as the dock keyboard does, and can also be used with other devices.
BTW you don't have to use an Apple keyboard. Just about any bluetooth keyboard should work with the iPad.
