Q. Is iPhone charger different than iPad charger. They both charge both devices but I heard its not good to use them for inappropriate device. Thank you guys in advance
A. They are the same charger. Just that one is lesser powerful (the iPhone one). It has lesser amperes I believe.
Hence, your iPad will still charge, just slower. It's perfectly okay to charge both devices.
My iPad wall charger is heating up?
Q. I have two iPod/iPad chargers that I ordered from Amazon.com. Both of them heat up quite a bit after about 30-45 minutes after I've plugged them in. Not enough to burn me, but just really, really warm.
Does anyone else have chargers from Amazon? Are they supposed to get that hot after you plug them in?
A. it's not just chargers from amazon trust me... Big battery chargers heat up a lot... my laptop charger heats up to... But my ipad wall charger doesn't heat up... Keep in mind ANYTHING that has a usb port and can be put into a wall can charge your ipad! so you know those new phone chargers that are 2 pieces? you can use that to charge your ipad! :P dont worry it so much unless they become very hot... also..
Ipad 2 info.. So if you own a ipad2 or just know allot about ipads (answer)?
Q. My mother said she will buy me a ipad or a ipod for christmas. I am leaning towards a ipad. I just need some things answered first
(1) the ipad 2 will i have to pay to get internet in it. Will i be able to pick up internet in Coffee shops, hotels places that offer free internet?
(2) I all ready have a laptop, and a souped up desktop. this ipad can I connect usb's to it to connect it to my computer? and are there places for sd micro cards?
(3) what I mostly do on laptop is listen to music, facebook, go to youtube, look things up, Now what i would like to be able to do is and it be essayer is use skype, video chat, facebook, and look things up essayer with out lugging around this 5 pound laptop.
(4) I have never owned a smartphone but have seen allot of my friends use them. Will the ipad be like having a smartphone with the apps and games? Because my friends are able to find allot of the coolest apps for free like where am i at,
(5) how is the battery life, how good does it pick up hot spots like if you are in a park out side, how well is it in finding a internet single? and being a apple product do you have to go through apple to every thing with the ipad, like if you want to put music, a video, upload or download any thing? alos being apple how compatable is it with other probucts like external harddrives, programs in the internet, and webpages on the internet, Or will i have problems
A. (1) There's two different models of the iPad. There's an Wifi only iPad and a Wifi + 3G iPad. With the Wifi only iPad, you can only connect to the internet in a wifi hotspot, so that means at home, Starbucks, cafe, library, school, etc. Any place that provides accessible wifi. The Wifi + 3G iPad provides another alternative method to accessing the internet in case you are in an area where wifi is not available and you absolutely need to use the internet. The benefit of the wifi + 3g iPad is it's no contract and you are in total control of the 3G. You could possibly use the 3g once out of the whole year and not use it for another 3 or however many years. It's totally up to you! Again, it's a benefit just in case you go to a lot of places where there is no wifi available and you need to get on the internet. It's as simple as turning it on and off in your settings. If you attend a lot of places where wifi is available then the 3g is probably overkill. Definitely some things to think about.
(2) When you purchase you iPad in the box you will receive a wall charger and USB to dock connector cable. This USB to dock cable is used to plugin to your computer to push photos, videos, music, applications, and documents from iTunes to your iPad2, or simply for charging up your battery.
The iPad does not have any built slots for a sd micro card, but there is an accessory you can purchase called the camera connection kit, which allows you to directly import your photos from your camera via usb to dock to your iPad OR an sd card. Not an sd micro card, but an SD card.
(3) Essentially the iPad 2 is supposed to be an extension to your computer, so instead of lugging around your laptop you now have something more portable and still allows you to be very productive. The benefit of all this is with the iOS 5 operating system, you no longer need your computer to sync your content. Yes, the music, photos, documents, contacts, videos, etc. is all done wirelessly.
(4) The iPad two does everything an iPod or iPhone can do except make phone calls. A new feature of iOS 5 is now you can send sms or mms your friends with an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad 2 who are running iOS 5 for free. The big difference of course is the beautiful display.
(5) The battery life expected is 10 hours, but your brightness, bluetooth, and 3G (if applicable) can shorten the battery, but not too much. If you don't get anything else such as accessories be sure to get AppleCare. Anything operational, software or hardware, that goes wrong with your iPad just take it in and have it replaced and that includes your battery.
If you are going in a park you just might need the 3G iPad.
You don't have to necessarily go through Apple for everything. You can rip music from your CDs or import videos from other sources and still sync them to your iPad. The only thing is iTunes will not backup the music you did not purchase.
No connectivity for external hard drives. If you need an external hard drive this might not be a product for you. There are also 3 different capacity/memory sizes you also have to consider. How much space do you think you need? 2GB = 500 songs. A 16GB iPad is almost 4,000 songs. Your applications, music, photos, video, and books all take up space on your iPad, but you can always take things on and off as you need or don't need.
iPad is not flash capable since it is a mainly a memory hog, but a lot of developers are developing using HTML 5, which allows you to watch video in a web page. Another alternative is an app in the App Store called Skyfire, which allows you view web pages that has flash content embedded. YouTube is already preinstalled on the iPad, it's already compatible.
Good luck!
