Q. So I have been wanting to get a tablet for awhile. I have a laptop for more intensive work/ study needs.
I have narrowed down my search to either the Samsung galaxy note 8.0 or 10.1.
The size, weight, resolution, and general layout of the 8.0 really appeals to me, but I really want to use this for note taking in class ( hand written) and digital drawing.
Is the 8.0 big enough for this, or should I just go for the 10.1? And are there any other key differences between the two?
Any artists out there used both?
And what store would be a good place to try these out in person?

p.s. the price difference does make a difference, but I figure that if I'm gonna drop that kind of cash, I should get what I really want, so please leave that out of the consideration.

A. Galaxy note 10.1 is just the bigger screen size of Galaxy note 8.0. The advantages of galaxy note 8 is that it is much portable and you can carry around with you. The screen resolution of Galaxy note 8 is bit better also.

efficiency and effectiveness

= Definitely the Galaxy Note with the Dual screen option and the Stylus is the best option for note taking.

= With quadcore processor and 2Gb RAM the games would work awesome on Note but with the retina display the iPad 4 has advantage. So its a tie

IMO Galaxy Note.
Well your use seems pretty casual as per what you asked for you wont need more than 16Gb. But if you are planning to save lots of offline movies then 16Gb may become less then you simply buy microSD card to increase space.

A. I personally recommend getting the Galaxy Note. iPad is an apple products and like all apple products they start to fail ever since Steve Jobs has passed away. But samsung will keep improving this. The galaxy uses android and android can do everything iOS can when jailbroken. So think about this. I am not an expert in this so I don't know a lot about their physical specs but the android OS is way better in terms of the amount of freedom you get on doing certain things without requiring to change the ROM. But then again you need to think about sizes looks and most important PRICE. I understand most android devices are cheaper than apple devices. The galaxy note will be pretty nice depending on what you want it for. So think carefully before choosing anything. And look at reviews! Hope this helped :D
