Q. I've had this phone for a little more that 1/2 a year. And it charged fine when I was using it to read or watch videos. Now it starts to lose power while charging when I watch a video or do anything really. How can I fix this?
A. Assuming the charger is working properly, sounds like the battery may need to be changed...
Before doing so you could also try to drain the battery completely (let the phone power off after battery drains), then charge the phone until battery full, then let battery drain fully again by letting phone turn itself off, then charge it fully again... don't leave phone plugged in when phone is fully charged, and don't topup the charge until battery fully drains, such actions will weaken your battery life, repeating this procedure can sometimes restore the battery life... if not then you most likely will need to get a new battery.
based on reviews here are some good batteries replacements from amazon:
http://amzn.to/1lCcR39 (2200 mAh)
or a more powerful one (this battery comes with a replacement cover because battery is extra big)
http://amzn.to/1lCdbPe (4400 mAh)
or one even much more powerful
http://amzn.to/1ghyb1w (7200 mAh)
this brand is got very good reviews, and the reason i also recommended it, is because i recently also purchase one of their portable power packs 15000 mAh http://amzn.to/1lCdtWu (this portable charger has 2 usb power connections to charge 2 devices at same time and also has a torch light, i'm very happy with mine)
If you prefer to get an official OEM replacement battery, then see this one http://amzn.to/1lCdMAo
Good Luck!
Help with phone? (Battery)?
Q. I would fully charge it but my phone would die in 30-45 should I get a new battery? I already tried setting my phone to facory settings but nothing changed. Any suggestions?
A. I would just try a new battery they are cheap i have two for my Samsung galaxy Fascinate since it drains battery's so flipping fast. Amazon is a great site to buy something like this. Mine only cost 4 dollars and the charger for the separate battery was only 3. 7 dollars is completely worth a full day of phone charge spring for OEM its a lot cheaper they are the same as brand new just not in the original box. Good luck and God Bless!
How to properly charge mobile phone? *Best answer*?
Q. So, I just got a new samsung galaxy S, and just wanted to know whether your pattern of charging the battery really matters or not. I had another samsung for a year, which I just charged whenever I thought of it. I have the feeling now that the battery of the previous samsung is less durable than it was (after only a year).
So I want to know, what is the best thing to do? Is it necessary to let the battery drain almost completely before you charge it, does it matter whether I stop the charging before the battery hits 100%, does it matter if I just plug it in the computer for an hour to upload files on it (plugging it in the USB also makes the phone charge the battery)?
Only answer if you really KNOW the answer, not if you 'heard it from someone', because more rumours don't help me out.
Thanks
A. First battery charge should be done as directed in the manual.
Swapping out the OEM battery for an Extended Life battery is always a good option, especially if the battery does not need a battery door swap, for one that sticks out.
No need to let the battery die completely, before charging, charge as you feel you need to. A partially charged battery can be topped off when ever you want to, during your commute in the car when using GPS, at work, especially when making a lot of calls using bluetooth, are always a good times to top off or use AC.
The newer batteries and phones, have circuitry to prevent over charging, so once the battery is charged, it's not going to harm the battery or the phone to leave it plugged in, unless you are using a charger not made for the phone (then all bets are off). Same voltage, but higher amps can damage the phone and the battery. Same voltage but lower amperage will/may charge the battery slower, or possibly not at all if charging a dead battery.
