Q.
A. Definatley get the iPad!
It's an unbelievably cool product! I've had it for a week now, and it has exceeded my expectations in every area but one. It is such a pleasurable experience to hold it and interact with the machine. It is a very intuitive, tactile, and personalinteraction with the web.
Having a touch screen to interact with the web is a very different experience than using a mouse.
It is NOT supposed to be a netbook, so reviews which compare what it doesn't have, miss the point.
This is a whole new computing device to accomplish perhaps 80% of what most people use computers for for all the basic uses (email, web surfing, music, movies (the Netflix app rocks!), games, ebook, magazine reading (Zinio is great), and the news (the USA Today app is a joy to use) it is great.
I have already been finding myself on my laptop much less often than before.
The iWork apps are a pleasure to use. The one area that seems to be more convoluted than it should be, is printing. You can't print directly from it. You have to either email it to yourself, or transfer the file over when you sync with iTunes. But it looks like the 4.0 version of the operating system is going to provide a lot of fixes which people are looking for.
A few years from now, tablets like this will be everywhere, and those who are on computers are mainly using them for work. I knew the iPad would be a big hit when my 70 old mother, after seeing mine, decided she was going to get one too!
As for buying them, you're best bet for the cheapest price is off eBay where i've seen them for $170 shipped or on Amazon.com
I've provided links to both below, your choice and best of luck!!

Good but not expensive ipad cases/covers?
Q. hi! so i ordered an ipad 4 the other day, and while i am waiting for it to arrive, I would like to purchase all the accessories/supplies necessary to keep my ipad 'safe' ... also, I know the smart covers are good for covering the screen ,but they dont really seem to protect anything. I would like a nice not expensive cover that covers the back and flaps over to the front (covers it)
kind of looks like this but better quality/appearance: http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/smart-cover-two-sided-protect-case-skin-cover/14500315-104611077.html
thanks so much!

Opinions about Apple iPad Smart Cover?
Q. Okay, so I currently have a Smart Cover/Case (not by Apple) and it has 4 flappy things, the ones that fold into a triangle. Now, I'm thinking about buying a new Smart Cover because mine is old, but I've only found ones with 3 flappy things. Does the 3 fold up and work as well as the 4 does? Because it SEEMS like it wouldn't work as well, like, it wouldn't be as sturdy, but I've never tried one so I wouldn't know. If you don't exactly know what "flappy things" I'm talking about, I've attached images showing the difference between the two cases, which I'm sure you'll be able to figure out what I'm talking about. Anyways, what's your experience with 3 vs 4 flappy things? Which one works better? Is there any real difference like I think there may be? Thanks!
4 flaps (ignore the left side of the image where the case for the back of the iPad is, we're focusing on the part that folds over the screen):

3 flaps:

A. The "3 flaps" is only compatible on the iPad Air.
So supposing you have an iPad Air, like I do, the 3 flaps is just great. I see no inconvenient in it.
But I have to be honest, every time I fold it and make that triangle, I always make sure that if if the triangle was to dissemble, the iPad would not fall on something hard or fall to the ground.
The 4 flaps on the iPad 4 and earlier is harder to unfold the triangle, but I guess it's because they're heavier. The iPad Air is lighter so I think it's proportional.
I've never had any incidents with the 3 flaps since I bought it along with my iPad Air, in November 2013.
