A. I'm a kindle owner and I also read paper books.
Frankly, whether I buy it on kindle or on paper makes no difference to the kind of books I read. I want a good well-written story, that's all.
The one thing that is different is that I can get a lot of free and really cheap books on Kindle, so I own a lot more public domain classics on Kindle than on paper. If I have to pay a higher price for a book, I usually get it on paper instead. But that's just because my cash vouchers are empty at the moment.

My question though is, how do I buy kindle ebooks on amazon and get them to the kindle keyboard? I've never owned a kindle before.
A. There are two ways...
If you have wifi available, you can browse the Kindle Store, and download samples and full books over that. If not, you can use a computer to browse the store and download books, and then plug your Kindle into the computer via a USB cable to transfer them. Depending on which Kindle you get, you may also have the option of using the 3G network for all of this.
You can mix these options - I use my computer for browsing and getting samples, but my Kindle downloads the samples over wifi. If I read a sample and like it, there's a "buy" button at the end of the sample, so I press that and my Kindle downloads the book over wifi.
For this to work, you need to have a credit or debit card on file with Amazon (you can also use gift vouchers) and your Kindle needs to be registered to your Amazon account. If that sounds too Big Brother-ish, some other retailers also offer books in Kindle formats, but you need to download and transfer them yourself, which is less convenient.
