Q. I heard somewhere that screen protectors of any kind cause your screen to heat up and lose pixels over time and that there is no need for them anyway because keys and stuff can't scratch or harm your ipad/iphone screens in anyway anymore and new screens for ipad mini or iphone 5 are somehow scratch proof. Is it true ?
So I'm kinda asking 2 question here :)
A. Don't think so. I've been using Hagz screen protectors for my iPhone and iPad Mini since a long time now and haven't come accross anything like that. I would suggest, buying a good quality screen protector which doesn't peel off or bubble up over time. The new Apple devices come with Retina display, so I personally prefer the Clear kind with Dry installation. Hope this helps.
Ipad...pros and cons?
Q. I really want the Ipad for some reason. I went into the Apple store Saturday and looked at it, and now I want it so bad. But, I've heard so many different things about it. Some bad and some good. I was planning on getting it for my birthday (which is next month), and I really want to know some stuff about it so I can make a decision. So, if you have the Ipad, can you tell me the good and bad things about it? and if you like it or not?
Should I wait until the next generation Ipad comes out, or get one now?
A. Hi... I know what you mean about wanting an Ipad. Itâs fair to say that the reaction to the iPad has been mixed. My first impression is that itâs the exactly the same thing as an iPhone, just that the screen is bigger WITHOUT the phone calling function. SO BASICALLY ITâS AN iPod Touch⦠I donât know why Steve Jobs wants to say âitâs something between an iPhone and iMacâ¦â itâs clearly between an iPod Touch and Netbook
The iPad might look great, and many teenagers will be getting their parents to buy one because it is the new cool thing but it lacks a lot of functions of a laptop, weak keyboard, processor, no USB slot, CD Rom, no flash etc⦠however, the screen certainly looks beautiful. But, like many iphone users such as me, experienced broken screen⦠or cracked screen⦠and iPad certainly looks easily breakable.. and where can you find such big âScreen Protectorsââ¦
Here is a bigger list of my Pros and Cons. If you really want a good ipad I say wait till next year when the real thing comes out. This first ipad is just a beta. They will be fixing it and then you will get what you paid for. I hope this Helps!!
Pro
Third-party support: the iPad will be able to run third-party apps without modifications. Kind of like the iPhone! Yes, Apple will profit off of an even more hyped-up app store, but users will benefit from the flexibility and creativity brought in by (mostly profit-seeking) developers. Also key: the iBooks e-reader app. It may not instantly rescue all of journalism, but itâs a start, and this may make the iPad an attractive choice for consumers who donât want to buy black-and-white, restricted Internet e-readers. More broadly, in the words of David Carr, âthe iPad is creating and killing categories at the same time;â the free market says that third-party devs will best be able to figure out what to do with all of that potential.
Con
Itâs running on the iPhone operating system (currently, version 3.2); no OS X. Among other things, this means no multitasking: as in, you canât run two applications at the same time. Also: no Flash (see below). Engadget: âThereâs no multitasking at all. Itâs a real disappointment. All this power and very little you can do with it at once. No multitasking means no streaming Pandora when youâre working in Pages⦠you can figure it out. Itâs a real setback for this device.â
Pro
HTML5, the still-developing next generation of HTML, has been thoroughly embraced by the iPhoneâs OS, and, by extension, the iPadâs. HTML5 isnât yet fully there, but itâs promising: Ask a bunch of web geeks about HTML5 and youâll hear a lot of answers to the effect that itâs the future of the Internet, both because it patches up much of HTML4âs clutter and because itâs seen as a freer, more open development platform. (Counterpoint: see H.264 codec)
Con
The flipside of that: no Flash. This isnât totally a minus â see above â but the Web is a long way to go from being all HTML5, with the result that big chunks of it will be shut off to early iPad users. The top comment on a critical thread on Reddit: â[N]o Flash support. It literally is just a big iPod Touch with some free apps included.â
Pro
The cheapest iPad, which has the minimum 16 gigabytes of storage, costs $500; this is well below the $1000 pricetag predicted by some.
Con
The cheapest iPad doesnât come with 3G coverage; for that, youâll need to bump it up to $629, which doesnât factor in the $30/month youâll be paying for unlimited data. (because you will be paying for unlimited data and not 250 MB a month, right?)
Pro
10 hours of battery life while watching video, with up to a month of standby! At least according to Steve Jobs. Given that itâs so thin and weighs only 1.5 pounds, this is pretty remarkable.
Con
The battery is built in, which means youâre screwed if it conks out. This was one of the things that people most disliked about the MacBook Air.
Pro
The iPad has a digital compass, 3G-assisted GPS, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, Appleâs custom 1 GHz Apple A4 chip, and is multitouch-compatible.
Con
For all of that, no camera, at all. No Skype, no augmented reality, no photos on the go. Seriously: the accelerometer over that?
Again: the iPad is a mixed bag, and it is not the mythical unicorn-like creature that the hype cycle inevitably built it up to be. But thereâs a lot to like about it, and, like it or not it will be a big hit this year.
Cheers!!
I hope this helps!!
Where is the best place to get an Ipad screen protector?
Q. I am going to buy an Ipad 2 and I was wondering about screen protectors for it! Are they sold in normal stores like Walmart or do I have to order them online? how much do they cost? what is the best brand? the Cheapest brand? If you could help me out that would be great! Also, (optional) what apps should I download? haha thanks!
A. To get a screen protector, I would highly recommend getting a professional to do it. Because if you do it yourself, the better screen protectors are almost impossible to put on perfectly, they keep getting bubbles, and and "easy on" types aren't that great. invisibleSHIELD is a great company that has a lot of kiosks in malls and they can do it for you on the spot. In my mall I think there are 3 different companies that can do it (the other one is Ghost Armor or something, I forgot the rest).
You can always buy a screen protector (recommended invisibleSHIELD) at BestBuy or Target in a do-it-yourself kit. Actually, some jewelry stores will do it for free if you just give them your iPad and the screen protector you got and they'll put it on right on the spot. So many choices!!!
