A. Laptops <<do not>> require any kind of a bag or case. I travel with one just in my backpack, not in anything else. Therefore, an iPad does not need a case either. No electronics need to be in any special container.
The only requirement is that you take it out of your bag an put it into one of the bins by itself when it goes through the x-ray machine.

A. Is it a regular iPad or an iPad mini? I had a mini and I bought a cover for it that looked like a composition notebook (it was for a Kindle, I believe, but it fit the mini just fine). I bought it at Wal Mart.
You can also put it inside folded clothes or wrapped up in a sweatshirt.
You can also wrap it in newspaper so it just looks like the newspaper in there.

Q. I want a ipad backpack or sling bag that will hold an extend battery pack, and five magazine, my Kindle, cellphone, chargers, and a few small accessories like pens and journals. I do not want it to have to hold my laptop also and I want to it be compact. I I have no price limit but want a well made bag that doesn't have a laptop sleeve.
A. There are plenty of them online for you to choose from. If online deals doesn't suit you, you can go to a computer/mobile accessories store and get a nice one for you. In addition a bag showroom would have plenty of affordable stuff and you can choose the one the meets your needs. In fact, you can take your things with you, put it in the bag and actually see if it'll hold everything. The biggest problem of buying it online for these type of products is that you can't test whether it would hold everything. Hope this helps :)
