Q. which one should I buy and why?
A. I've got the galaxy ace, and it's not my fave! I know you have probably read reviews and possibly set on the phone (I was just like that), it does look nice and does really well especially for the price but..
Cons-personally I've had problems with wifi and 3G (and I'm a complete techy/geek)!,
the phone will randomly turn off and crash
some apps you may want to use you cant due to it not having Adobe Flash Player.
Pros- Lovely design (Available In both black and white)
Bargain for the price
Big enough touchscreen
Quickly responds
Range of Apps
Out of the 2 though the Ace looks more nicer so I'd go with that! (But If you do want it... Get it insured please and If your a fan of apps get a bigger memory card straight away!).
No idea about the mini 2 - but i think the ace looks nicer and bigger, and pretty good for the price if your looking for a bargain!

A. 1. First of all you should have gingerbread operating system to install a custom rom (Because CWM recovery, which is rudimentary for installing custom roms, doesn't work on android 2.2 devices.). So, if you donât have gingerbread installed on your device please read âUpgrading to Samsung Galaxy Pop/Mini to Gingerbread 2.3.4â article to install it manually.
2. Flash Clock Work Mod Recovery which you can download from http://www.mediafire.com/?zb2xvhktd0xd7w0
3. Download the Cyanogen Mod 7 rom from
http://download.andro-id.net/ROMS/GT-S5570/Cyanogenmod/update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyMini-KANG-signed-01102011.zip.
4. Put your newly downloaded zip file in root directory of your sdcard.
5. Reboot your device in recovery mode. Use volume keys for navigation and home key to select an option while you are in recovery.
6. If you want you can do a nandroid backup of your current rom through the option âbackup and restoreâ in CWM recovery.
7. Wipe data and cache from the options âwipe data/resetâ and âwipe cache partitionâ respectively.
8. Select the option âinstall zip from sdcardâ and then select âchoose zip from sdcardâ option.
9. Choose the zip file you downloaded and copied to your sd card earlier and select it.
10. Wait till it finishes installing your cyanogenmod 7 in your smart phone. After it is completed, wipe data and cache again and reboot your device.

A. first of all, im the owner of Samsung Galaxy Mini. for the first aspect, it is a great phone cuz its cheap but have it like the expensive one. but sooner or later, i regret because i discover of many disadvantage of it (all phone have its own disadvantage).
First of all, its about its screen. its 3.12 inch (approximately) screen which almost slightly smaller than iphone 3g (just its not widescreen but iphone 3g does) BUT has smaller resolution QVGA 320x240 and it quite blur when viewing videos because of it.
Slightly higher in speed than iphone 3g but the graphic is not comparable.
Small internal memory limit how much you can install even with large storage of SD card.
It has great quality of sound when you play music with headphones. Recommend use MixZing Basic (free) cuz has equalizer but recommend Winamp Pro (paid).
It has Adreno 200 which gives nice rendering 3D graphic but looks like PS1 graphic... depends on games...
Anyway, u should see new Galaxy Mini 2 cuz it has larger screen resolution HVGA 480x320 for sharper viewing, 800MHz cpu a lot faster than iphone 3g and same speed with Galaxy Y and has Flash support. I dont know about its GPU.
Additional info: o yeah, samsung galaxy mini uses a lot of battery usage. (forget to mention it). but this also apply to most android phone (s, sii, etc). so whenever buy this phone or mini 2 or other that is android based, install an app that is for maintain battery life or battery management.
