Q. I have an iPhone 5, and have been using iPhone for the last 2 years. I owned an Android (HTC Evo Shift) for a year. I loved the customization and software, but hated the phone itself. My dad has a Galaxy S4 and I have fallen in love with the phone. The sleekness of the device itself and the smooth software really caught my eye. Should I make the switch? If so, how does S4 beat the iPhone 5? And if you really want ten points, how much do you think I will get from Sprint for the iPhone 5 (it's almost a year old but works and looks brand new)? Also, which color looks better on GS4?
A. Yes, you should make the switch, the galaxys4 is pretty much the best phone on the market at the moment. It's a lot faster than the iPhone 5, it customizable because of Android. A lot of apps are free from google playstore, and with the iPhone that's not always the case. Don't forget the camera as well, iPhones camera isn't bad, but it really can't stand up to the 13 MP beast that the s4 has. Above that the s4's camera also has some great features like sound and shot, gifs,... The galaxy itself also has some great features, like smart scroll, smart pauze,... It's lighter than the iPhone despite being bigger and it also feels great to hold. There are also rumors that android is going get an update, so it'll be even better than it already is. I'm not sure how much money you'll get from sprint for returning your phone but I do know that white is pretty much the best color for the GS4. Though now they've also released phones with a red, purple and even brown color, so if you want something else different,...
Hope this helps!!!
Should I get a Samsung Galaxy S3 or an iPhone 5?
Q. I really like the Galaxy, but I know the new iPhone is coming out. I have a 4th generation iPod Touch that is almost exactly like the iPhone, and I will be able to download iOS 6 for it.
A. Hi, buy the Samsung Galaxy SIII (Samsung Galaxy S3) here is my experience
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0080DJ6CM/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0080DJ6CM&linkCode=as2&tag=acomprar-20
I am so happy with this phone. Just got this phone on July 20th so I haven't tested out all the features. But I still say that it's just amazing and worth every penny. Apple fan boys beware cause Samsung is here to stay. The phone is extremely light and the display is very big and beautiful. The phone does look big at first, however web browsing, reading books and playing games is very easy due to the screen size. In addition after a while you do warm up to the size and it's hard to go back to a smaller phone. In addition the user experience is great.
I had read tons of reviews and articles about problems with the battery and mic etc with this phone. However I have not experienced any of these.
***Battery***
Battery is great. After charging it for about 4 hours or so and browsing for about 3 hours, downloading games, making several phone calls (over 3 hours in total), taking pictures, playing music and using S Voice; I got over 36 hours and counting on the phone on a single charge. I should note that I did make some modifications however by occasionally turning off WIFI, turning off Bluetooth, syncing and a couple other battery draining options. In addition Samsung has a cool power saving option that helps to maximize battery life.
***Microphone***
Had no problem. I could hear the other person clearly and they could hear me clearly too. There is also a volume boost option for when you are on a call and what extra volume. Pretty cool if you ask me and it does make a significant difference.
***No Overheating***
I haven't had that problem at all. Even with a phone case on the phone did not overheat.
***Charging***
Phone charged perfectly fine. Didn't get stuck or anything. And it also charged very quickly. Probably charged less than 4 hours. Didn't really time it, but after 4 hours it was fully charged.
***WIFI***
The WIFI connection is great. Signal didn't drop or anything.
SOME CONS:
1. User Manual and set up - Had some problems at first because the phone came with a printed Spanish manual. But luckily they have the user manual in all languages online and the set up is also pretty easy to follow on the phone. Several programs like S voice also defaulted to Spanish even after setting up the phone with the default language being English.
2. Back Cover - Some people did complain about the back cover which I agree could have been designed better as it does give it a somewhat cheap look. However it is easy to remove, clean and who doesn't love a removable battery. I have also seen at least one pic on the web where the back cover was cracking, however I have not experienced this for myself.
3. Color Saturation - Another thing is that though the camera takes great pictures, the phone display makes the colors look very saturated when compared to other phones. Will see if there are any options I can select to improve this.
4. S Voice - S voice unlike Siri can open up all the apps on the phone and has some other cool features. But S voice can be a little annoying as it doesn't get what you are asking or telling it to do at times (Siri does have similar problems but not as pronounced). It also at times didn't recognize my wake up voice command (Hi Galaxy). If you ask S voice if you need an umbrella it is smart enough to pull up the weather forecast for your area. However I had some difficulty setting an alarm as each time I would say 6:00 am, it would register it as 6:00pm. I eventually got this fixed by changing how I said the command. If you also speak too slowly it doesn't pick up on what you are saying. S voice also isn't as funny or intuitive as other voice recognition tools. If you ask "what sound does a cat make?", it will ask if you would like to Google it rather than just be proactive and google it. The only workaround is to tell it to "search for what sound does a cat make". Not a major game changer; but again if you are expecting S voice to be as perfect as you see those "Andrew" Android straight talk ads, then forget it. Be prepared to repeat yourself a couple times before S voice gets it right. But as annoying as it is, it does make hands free driving and cooking some what easier. Had no problems telling S voice to make calls or send a text.
Should I get the Samsung Galaxy S4 or the iPhone 5?
Q. ive had the iphone 4 for 2 years now, and never had a single problem with it. i actually loved it and really am fond of apple and their products.. my line is up for upgrade (verizon) and i was looking at 3 different phones trying to decide which one to get. i was look at the iphone 5, samsung galaxy s4, and the htc one. i came to find out that the htc phone isnt available for verizon users yet so im stuck trying to decide between the s4 and the iphone. ive did some online research and saw people on both sides give good arguments to which one is better. i am having a really hard time deciding which one to get.
i text ALOT, i browse the web pretty often on my phone, i play games sometimes, but not very often, i dont talk on the phone much, i take a decent amount of pictures and videos, i post to twitter and facebook all the time, and im a very clumsy person, ill have a case on my phone because i will drop it pretty often.
any help would be great! thanks in advance.
A. The Galaxy S4 is a much better phone for many reasons. The Galaxy phone in the same generation as the Iphone 5 was the S3 which was also better then the Iphone.
The S4 has a camera twice as good as the iphone. You can add memory to the galaxy phones if you wish. The screen is larger and crisper as it is 1080i HD quality with really cool features like no other camera has. It has a faster processor then the iphones.
The Galaxy phones don't break as easily as the iphones. They are much more durable. The back is a flexible plastic that softens the fall if dropped the iphones just shatter. I broke my husbands iphone with one drop my galaxy has been dropped a few times with absolutely no damage.
The S4 has a much longer battery life then the Iphone also.
