tablet with these specs " ipad mini - samsung tab 7" or 8" - asus google nexus 7 2013 "?

Q. i want to be able to put pdfs like books on it directly from my computer without having any privacy issues or having to download directly on the tablet " the most important "

i don't like lagging on any slow electronic device so it better has fast interface

i would like to have viber , whatsupp , skype amd all these communicating apps available on it

i would like to have all the necessary apps available on the market and not miss on anything because the app market was one of the reasons i kind of regretted buying the nokia n9 phone for

and these three tablets are my options , what do you think ??

A. - Galaxy tab and Nexus 7 would be the better options in this case as on iPad Mini you would have some restrictions

- All these devices have good interface and you would be able to run all apps pretty much lag less

- You would be able to find skype and viber directly whereas whatsapp needs some work around but you would be able to get it.

- Nokia has windows apps store which pretty much lacks every necessary app, whereas the Galaxy tab, Nexus 7 and iPad Mini would give you almost every app.

Between these three. The best overall option IMO would be the Galaxy tab 3, specifically because of the microSD slot as you are not stuck with the internal memory, you can upgrade up to 64Gb more.

Nexus 7 would be next best option, it does not has the microSD slot but having a 1080p screen on a 7" screen is cool enough in that low price.

Whereas the iPad Mini has the best variety of apps, but the specs are almost same as the iPad 2.

Review comparison between most popular tablets in market, would definitely be helpful on this decision:

Original Question

What tablet should I buy?
Q. I'm kinda of a tech person and I wanna start exploring new OS's. I've been using apple devices for a long time and now I want a change. What are some of the newest tablets out these days? is the nexus 7, and samsung galaxy tab some?
They seem very good and even better when rooted.. And apple devices have a lot of limits even when jailbroken which sucks.. What are some of the best tablets out with the most customizable OS?

A. You are correct that the iOS has way many limitations compared to android devices.

Both devices will give you the best bang for your buck.

Galaxy tab 3 has the microSD slow which means you can add more memory anytime you wish to add. On the Nexus 7 you would be stuck with the 16 or 32Gb whichever you choose. The shape and design of Galaxy tab 3 is also pretty good. The screen ratio of Nexus 7 makes it look thinner whereas the screen ratio of the galaxy tab 3 makes it wider and thus comparitively better in shape.

Whereas the Nexus 7 would give you the awesome 1080p screen, better camera, better processor and RAM also. In few bucks more but would be worth it. In case if you are not looking for much storage then it would be great for use.

I suggest you to read these comments on Nexus 7 vs Galaxy tab 3, would definitely help you on this decision:

Original Question

Do I need a case for my tablet?
Q. I am getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch for Christmas. I don't usually drop my electronics, but my Otterbox Commuter saved my iPhone a couple times. Do I really need a case, or is the Galaxy Tab fairly durable? It seemed to hold up fairly well in drop tests.

A. I just bought the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. I don't normally drop my electronics either but after paying so much for a tablet I would definitely recommend getting a case for it. I think it would help you in the long run. I went to amazon and found one with pretty good reviews for pretty cheap. Its shipped in just a few days. Definitely a good deal and I'm alot more at ease about the life span of my tablet.
