what is the differences between Symbian & windows base mobile phones?
A. Windows Mobile has a more versatile range of software available for it and is more compatible with the PC (at least that's what everyone tells me), but it IS slower than Symbian OS and is more prone to crashing.
My older sibling owns a Windows Mobile phone - an HTC something or other and I own the Motorola Ming which is a PDA phone operating on a Linux based OS.
I can check email, read Word documents, write quite notes, handwrite in Chinese, quickly sketch a little quick something, take a snapshot of a hot bike in a parking lot with ease.
Earlier today, I was borrowing the HTC with the Windows Mobile running on it and maaaan was it slooooow with its applications.
Windows Mobile isn't bad - with the right version - 6, I think - it works great and offers a greater range of to-dos, but is oftentimes buggy and likes to hang.

What's it about Windows Mobiles and Windows Phones?
Q. I have my father's old HTC Touch Pro 2 and so am I right it's a Windows Mobile and not a Windows Phone? And when I search from the web for Windows Mobile apps and games all I can get is Windows Phone stuff. But I can't use it, right? So... I've heard they made a change and so but I can't find any apps so what to do? Should I just throw it away, like is it off the market etc? Or are there still some good places where I could download apps and stuff? If there are could someone suggest me some? Or is it some thing with updates and I have to update something? Sorry, so many weird questions but I really like this phone and want it to work nicely with apps and so, so could somebody just clear this stuff a little for me? All answers are welcome! :)
A. Windows Mobile was the name Microsoft used from 1.0 to 6.5. They overhauled the system & thus changed the name to Windows Phone starting with version 7.
Previous Windows Mobile phones can not update to Windows Phone 7. Unfortunately for Windows Phone 7 owners, Microsoft again overhauled the system in the change over to Windows Phone 8 & now they too can't update their phones, & would have to get a new Windows Phone 8 running phone in order to get it.
You are better of trying to get a more modern Windows Phone 8 phone if you want to stick with Windows or better yet an iPhone.

Q. I just got the T-mobile Shadow, I cant get it to sync with my Vista PC, I tryed everything I can think of, any ideas

A. For Windows Vista, you'll have to download Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Windows Vista. Some of the customer service reps at T-Mobile can be lazy so don't always count on them for the answers. Anyway, click on the link below to download and install the program and you should be good to go after that. Hope I've helped!
