Q. So I am planning to buy a Samsung Galaxy II SGH-i777 and it was meant for at&t only. What I want to do is root it myself since I have T-mobile. If I have to use the sim card then can I just buy a AT&T sim card, a dummy one that works but has no service and then try it?
A. You can root any Android phone with no sim card; it will work fine.
Try rooting your phone using this easy method which is completely safe and can be done in under five minutes without the aid of a computer or anything apart from your Galaxy S2 by downloading an app called Z4Root which you can download here (It's not in the Android Market/Google Play):

If you need help here is a video guide on how to do it:

If you can't understand the video guide then here are the steps:
1) Download Z4Root from this link on your device: http://tinyurl.com/Z4RootDownload
2) Open it from your 'Downloads' folder and install
3) Open the Z4root app once installed
4) Press on the option permanent root and wait for it to root your device
5) You now have a rooted phone :)
Beware that there is a very slight chance that Z4Root may not work on your phone, in which case look for an alternative way to root it like SuperOneClick. This method also works for nearly all Android phones :)
Is there anything different between Samsung Galaxy S2 from different providers?
Q. Is there anything different on the shape/size of the Samsung Galaxy S2 for Sprint and AT&T? I'm looking for cases and am not sure if there will be a different because their from different cell phone providers?
A. The Samsung Galaxy S II is greatly modified by the carriers in the US, from size, processor, screen size, etc. I think you have to buy a case specific to the phone you have. There is no universal case for every Galaxy S II.
Where can I find unique phone cases?
Q. I have a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. I don't want one of the normal cases that everyone has. I want something different. I also don't want to pay a lot for it. Does anyone know where I can find different cases?
A. Right so i have no idea where you live but if you're anywhere near london , then camden is the perfect place. The cases there are really cheap and unique because most of them are one off pieces.
Can i buy a phone with no contract changes in US and use it in China?? I thank it is not unlocked?
Q. I want to buy Samsung Galaxy S II 4G Android Phone (AT&Tor other types of network) in USA ,it is with no no contract changes, does is mean I can use it in other SIM or can I use it in China ?? If not how can I use it in China?? And what kind type of network does the phone use ?? I want to use GSM and WCDMA in China.
Thank you !
A. The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket (4G) supports botth: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and WCDMA 850 / 1900 / 2100
No contract stands for that the phone you buy doesn't require singing up for 2 year plan with service provider.
To use it in China you must to buy an unlocked phone, which means that the phone can be use with different GSM service providers. In that case you need to only slip in your active SIM card to activate the phone.
