Q. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab, with a usb adapter. I want to use my stereo speakers to play music on it, but I don't know how because the cords and plugs are confusing.
A. You cannot simply plug any pair of speakers into a tablet and expect to hear sound. I am assuming the speakers are passive, i.e., they're not amplified. The tablet cannot amplify full sized speakers like they do for headphones. You'll need to hook up the headphone output of your tablet to a stereo input on an amplifier, and then connect the speakers to the amplifier. Otherwise you can simply connect a set of powered computer speakers to the tablet. If you don't have an amp and want something minimal you can always get one of those small T-amps like the link below.
