Q. I have windows xp and usb wireless adapter how can i create access point to i get internet on my samsung galaxy mini.
With connectify i can create just that Ad-Hoc and my phone dont get wifi signal.
A. Ad-hoc mode is for this, try to turn this on but most of the time it wont work with the phone as you need a dhcp the other poster mentioned conectify and honestly this is the simplist way as it automates everything.
can you use mobile internet with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2?
Q. I wish to purchase the
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
but I have no way of WiFi, i use Optus mobile broadband (you know, were you plug the USB stick into your laptop) and I am not sure if this would work on the
Samsung Galaxy Tab, I know that it does not have a USB port but i have found that you can get special USB adapter plugs and think that might work
any advice would be nice and if any one knows of a place were I can purchase a
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 in WA for under $368 that would be great.
A. You need to buy the 3g version of the tablet, it slightly more expensive however, then what you do it put the sim card in the tablet out of your USB stick, this way you have the 3g internet on the tablet without having to plug in the single, if you don't buy the 3g version there will be no port for the sim card
Does stickmount/USB host mode make up for the lack of a microsd slot on the Nexus 7?
Q. I need to be able to use external storage(especially cameras) with the Google Nexus 7. Since my camera uses a SD/microsd card and the google nexus can't take either, I'd need to either connect them together directly(in which case the camera is the storage device) or connect the camera's microsd card via USB. This tablet seems like a better value than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 7, but being able to display pics from my camera on it is a crucial feature I won't compromise on.
A. Using stickmount will allow you to read your SD card (with a usb adapter) on a Nexus 7. This will require you to root your tablet, which may void your warranty.
There are other, similar apps that will allow you to read an SD card without rooting. The only one I have personal experience with is Nexus Media Importer, which is $2.99, but doesn't require root.
