Q. I have a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant and i need to make it so everything works for wifi but only picture/video texts work for data, i dont have a data plan, dont plan on getting one, and i dont want the bill to go crazy when the data is used without me knowing it.
A. Sign into a wifi network and don't switch to 3G. Also download a free texting App from the Market (Textplus is the best it can send pics too!) I don't get how you have a smartphone with out a data plan? Unless you only have limited data?

A. None of T-mobile's phone are compatible to the Telus HSPA network. The frequencies don't match. They will work on Rogers tho.

Q. I am looking to buy a used Samsung Galaxy Vibrant from eBay soon, but I don't want to use data. Will I be able to use the phone as a regular phone, and turn off data roaming?

A. the phone carrier will tack on the lowest data package they have without telling you. and yes it is legal for them to do that because once they see the ESN number and it will register as a smartphone.
