Q. I want to buy the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 but I cannot find it in the US, is ebay or amazon a trusted website to buy this phone from? What other phones are there that can compare to the Galaxy Note? Btw I don't want the AT&T version. Thanks
A. That is the only method if you're looking for the international version of the Note. Also be aware that the warranty will not be valid here. So double check that (unless you plan on rooting-in which case it won't matter). The Canadian i717 leaves the stock ROM intact, but adds the carriers' own bloatware to the mix. But still better than AT&T's butchered version.
You should also note that the International Note does not have LTE. Which is why the i717 uses another processor.
What's the difference between iPhone and Samsung Galaxy ?
Q. I'm a total ignorant when it comes to smart phones, but guess what, I want to buy one to look cool.
I heard that iPhone and Galaxy are the best 2 smartphones now adays, what's the difference between them ? and which one is better ?
A. Operating System:
iPhone 4 comes pre-installed with Apple's new iOS 4.x.x that includes more than 100 new features.
Samsung Captivate is powered by Android 2.1 that offers a slew of customizations including the ability to add widgets and custom alerts.
Display:
iPhone 4 comes with a gorgeous 960x640 pixel retina display, which is one of the major features of the new iPhone. AT&T Captivate, on the other hand, comes equipped with a 480x800 pixel Super AMOLED display.
Hardware:
The processor power of both these devices are impressive. Samsung Captivate is powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor with a 512MB RAM. The iPhone 4 on the other hand, is powered by Apple's native A4 processor that too runs at 1GHz and comes with 512MB RAM.
Camera:
Both Captivate and iPhone 4 come equipped with a powerful 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and support for 720p HD video capture. However, Apple wins the competition hands down due to the availability of LED flash along with support for on-board video editing features and video chat functionalities.
Compatibility:
Folks at TiPb point out that the Captivate may not be an ideal device for Mac users. Unlike the iPhone 4 which only requires the user to plug into iTunes to sync content, the Captivate will require several workarounds to achieve the same task. Also, MobileMe users may find it difficult to restore content while switching handsets.
Battery:
Heavy users of smartphones may find the battery life offered on Samsung Captivate disappointing. As many of our readers have noted in the past, the new iPhone 4 offers significantly improved battery life that comfortably lasts for a day in most cases. However, this may not be the case with the Captivate and as TiPb points out, the battery may not last a work-day if you are a heavy user.
Is the samsung galaxy note 2 worth it?
Q. I have not been able to play with it much, but it seems like a pretty bad ass phone. I do not mind the size at all. I just want to know if it is worth buying it or not. My brother said he is fed up with cheaply made Samsung phones and he wants the Motorola RAZR maxx HD because of the build quality. Nut even though the note 2 is more cheaply built, I think its quad core processor and the multitasking is awesome. The s pen and the size is spectacular. Would anyone be able to tell me by experience why they personally think about the phone?
A. I think it's definitely worth it, especially in your case since you don't mind the size at all. The pen is a really useful feature, and with all the software Samsung bundles with the phone it becomes an amazing tool for note taking, capturing memories, remembering things. I can see where your brother is coming from when he's talking about build quality, Samsung does use a lot of plastic. But the Notes size and curved feel in the hand make it feel like a premium device. I sometimes forget it's plastic. Go for it! It's An amazing phone. Enjoy :)!
