Q.
A. Hi Theodore:
The short answer is "yes", as long as the Blackberry model you refer to uses a Micro-USB connector the same size as your Samsung's. (There are several "Mini-USB" shapes [my Blackberry uses "Mini-" not "Micro-"], and the even-smaller "Micro-USB" which the Galaxy S-series requires.)
See the illustrated Wikipedia article covering both types of small USB connectors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_1.1#Mini_and_Micro_connectors
With the small-devices industry migrating over to the Micro-USB standard connector, even the European Union has mandated that all Micro-USB devices be able to use a "Common External Power Supply" or EPS (see the Wikipedia article on this topic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_External_Power_Supply ).
New Y!A Contributor "Judy Zhu" is slightly off-base in her Answer: a few "smart phones" can query what device is connected to their USB ports, including the name-brand charger they were designed for (I had a Motorola/Verizon model that would "complain" about other chargers) but the +5VDC USB charging voltage is an industry standard, and a different charger won't damage your Samsung.
The only other difference between USB chargers are those (like Apple's iPod and iPhone chargers) that have smart-chips to know how to properly trickle-charge the special Lithium-Ion Polymer batteries that they use (70-80% full charge rate for about 2hrs, then trickle-charge another 2hr 'til fully-charged). Samsung has their own "quick charging" technology that allows rapid charging while the phone is "on".
You can also charge most mini-USB phones while plugged (or "sync'ed") into a running computer USB port (power-down the phone for best charging).
hope this helps,

Battery charging problem for Samsung Galaxy II?
Q. I bought extra new batteries for my cell phone online (about $3 ea) so I can have back ups for long trips etc. 3 diff batteries from 2 different suppliers. One is even a new Samsung battery. They all work when in the cell phone. They all charge when I take them out and stick them in the wall unit battery charger. However all the batteries (except the original battery) do not charge when they are in the cell phone and plugged directly to wall or computer using the cord that came with the phone. I get an error message. saying "battery disconnected" and/or an icon of a yellow yield sign with a small X in the corner. This does not happen with original battery. Its a hassle and may wear on the back of the phone to keep opening the back of the phone and taking batteries in and out. Why does this happen with the new batteries and not the original one? Is there a calibration thing I need to do..or a setting I need to change on the phone?
A. I would say its the batteries not having smart chips in them? Like the smart charge where they don't overcharge or at least your phone doesn't pick it up so it just doesn't charge it.
my samsung android tablet was conneted to the computer and now when i plug it in to the charger it will not up?
Q. first I connected it into the computer and put some songs onto it, then when I went to plug it into the wall charger and switched the wall charger on my tablet wouldn't charge and now it has run out of battery and won't of course work
A. When you plug the Samsung Galaxy Tab, pull down the notification bar & click "USB Connection," then click "Mount As USB Mass Storage Drive/Disk Drive"
