Q. I am getting a samsung Galaxy s in a few days, and i want to buy a case for it. i was looking on ebay and alot of cases are for the i900 and im wondering if that will fit the galaxy s. also, is there much difference between the two?
I live in Australia if that makes any difference
thanks
sorry, i meant "Samsung GALAXY S"
A. The galaxy S is not the I900, it's a totally different model, than the galaxy S line. The samsung fascinte(sch-i500), vibrant, captivate, epic 4g, continuum are all part of the galaxy S line, but the i9000 is the base model of the galaxy S line, so when you get the phone just ask them which galaxy S it is to make sure, and the model number will be under the battery as well if they don't know/care when you ask.
If it's the global model (not U.S. carrier specific model) you want the i9000, not i900. Sadly the cases for all of the other models will not fit the i9000.
What phone should I get on sprint for upgrade?
Q. I have an Evo 4G currently I am torn in between Iphone 4s or Samsung Galaxy S2? Or should I even wait for Iphone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3 to come out? I like Android OS better I had a first generation Iphone before. I am trying to be open minded about my next purchase rather then one sided.
A. If you previously had the Evo and liked it, you should go with the new Evo 4G "LTE" that will be coming out soon (sometime in Q2). While it's usually a questionable practice waiting for the next best thing to come out, I do advise it in this case.
When the new evo comes out it will have the combination of the best screen technology (Super LCD 2) and the best processor (Snapdragon S4 is a dual core but it's the fastest ARM chip on the market right now, substantially outperforming the quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3) available. On top of that, it will have excellent battery life and take great pictures.
And in my opinion (and the opinion of Engadget and many other tech blogs) HTC's Sense 4 is pretty f-ing great. And if you liked your original Evo, you may already be a fan of Sense (if not, I'd say read some reviews on Sense 4 and give it a chance).
So yea, that's what I would go with if I was in your shoes.
How to root a Samsung Galaxy S 4g T959v?
Q. I am only finding outdated information, and any relevant information contains so much jargon that I do not understand what the heck to to. It is a newer version of the S 4G and is already running 2.3.6. I only wish to delete all of the bloatware.
The main area I am having concern with when reading the tutorials is that, it does not specify whether I am supposed to download whatever programs onto my computer or onto the phone itself? Is is possibly that a root for the Galaxy S II can work with my phone?
A. Hi
you just have to download the samsung drivers and SuperOneClick to your computer, other zip download direct to your phone . I rooted my phone whith the Androidforums tutorial.
...I dont know why the super one clic is in the Super manager link and this one on the SuperOneClick link , maybe my Pc (just in case you are reading same tutorial)
