Q. Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.
A. I've used an app called "Where's My Droid" for almost 2-3 years now. I got it mainly to locate my phone when it was on vibrate, but it now has options like controlling the camera to upload pictures to a website to see who may have your phone, and it has always had the option to text your phone and activate the GPS to locate it.
Paid version has more features of course, but it is one of a few apps.
Another option is the app "Plan B". You can load it onto your phone after it goes missing and activate the GPS to locate it (this is assuming it is turned on). The company that makes that app also makes on called Lookout Security & Antivirus (free). While the Anti-virus generally isn't recommended, some of the security features would come in handy if you phone is stolen.
Software update on samsung galaxy ace 2?
Q. I have an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and it keeps saying there is a software update available. If i do the software update will it lock the phone or is it okay to do the update? Thank You!
A. Android OS updates wont lock or re-lock the phone, especially on a pre-unlocked device.... but they have been known to loose root.
if for whatever ungodly reason you loose your unlock, which I highly doubt, just re-unlock it..... no biggie
Would you Recommend the HTC Desire X or the Samsung Galaxy ace 2?
Q. The price is irrelevant as they are both available for â¬230 in Ireland. What I would look for in these phones is: (1) it's gaming capabilities (what games it can run and how well it does so eg Minecraft, Rayman Jungle run , Angry Birds etc etc ) (2) Music . I listen to lots of music (mostly with headphones) but the general layout and functionality of the music player and it's speakers. What would be nice is to game and play music at the same time! (3) Browsing . Not as important but If the browsing was nice on the phone there is more reason to use it?! Im guessing ...(4) Being a generally good phone! I mean If you buy a phone it should perform good like a phone (calling texting etc) which sometimes can be forgotten with all their other capabilities!
