Q. I realize there's going to be an iPad 3 within a few months although I've asked for the iPad 2 for Christmas. A. I don't know how old you are, but when I was in school I downloaded all my textbooks onto it so instead of carrying 5 full books I carried one light ipad with it all. It also kept my notes, and I could record lectures with some apps. I actually never play games on it as you'll find most games aren't that fun after 5 mins.
Also I prefer the ipad 3/4, but if it helps tell her you'll just get the ipad mini which is a bit cheaper. It couldn't understand why someone would buy a tablet that was that small, but I played around with one and it's actually not bad.
If all else fails just promise that you will feed, water, and take it out to poop when it needs to.
