Q. I need to use a different IP address than my computers and thought this would be a cool way. If i could somehow connect to WiFi via my iPod and then transfer that WiFi signal via USB to my desktop PC. Is that even possible? Remember i have a 4th Gen iPod Touch running 4.2.1 firmware and yes it is jail broken.
A. I think what you are talking about is called Internet Tethering or Mobile AP system.
This system, unfortunately, need to have the hardware module built into the hardware. Some phones like Samsung Galaxy S and iPhone 4 have that module built-in. Just activate that, and your phone will act like a wireless router, using 3G as its internet connection.
There is another tethering system using cable, but this requires specific software. For Galaxy, it needs KIES and iPhone 4 uses iTunes.
For transferring of internet signals via USB cable, that is not possible unless what you are talking about is the cable tethering, which I mentioned above. In this case, the phone/device will act like a modem.

Should I get an iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy s4?
Q. Both on Verizon. I currently have an iPod Touch 4th generation. So I know how to use iOS already. I FaceTime a friend of mine. But if I got the galaxy I'm sure I could convince them to make a Skype. I don't like plastic crap. But if the features are good that's still something to make me consider the galaxy.
A. This is a very tough question, BUT there is an answer. It is your personal choice. Apple has a great security and it has the aluminum body. It also has its defects: iOS 6, bad battery life, bad customer service (from my 8 yrs. of being an apple customer). The galaxy s4 is being unveiled on 3/14/13. If you want, you can get that. Wait for a few days and see the specs of the s4. Then choose. The galaxy s4 will have a plastic body. However if you buy good cases, you can get the sleepless and fastness of android 4.2.

Of friends that used iOS so I'm getting the iPhone 5. If you are neutral about both of them, get the blackberry z10. Best touch screen interface you will ever experience. No buttons whatsoever!!! It is very cool. It will be coming to verizon in a few weeks so stay put if you like it.

When is Samsung going to unveil Galaxy S4?
Q. I love the features of the S3 but I don't like its plastic body. I hope Samsung rectifies this in S4. Any idea when Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S4?
I find the following as major drawbacks of S3 --
1. Plastic body
2. ICS operating system is old now. One has to manually upgrade it to Jelly Bean.
3. Camera isn't as good as that of iPhone 5.
4. It offers 1GB ram while Nexus 4 (much cheaper) offers 2GB ram and comes with almost identical processing power.
So, I hope S4 overcomes the drawbacks mentioned above.
A. The body can be fixed by using a hybrid metal/ Gel case. The nexus is also all plastic! T-mobile and Sprint have upgraded to Jelly bean. Verizon and ATT, by the end of this month. The S3 camera received an excellent update with Jelly Bean, utilizing all of its hardware( I have 4.2 photosphere installed). It may only have 1gb of ram, But the S3 has removable storage; which the Nexus doesn't. I'll gladly take 1GB less ram for the option of 64GB additional storage. The Nexus also doesn't have a removable battery. The Nexus has a sharper image, but the S3 is brighter and has a better contrast ratio. The Nexus also doesn't have LTE, and a lesser front facing camera. Each phone has its faults. Is the S3 case fragile? Yes, but I have it protected in an awesome case! anyways....No update on an S4..
If the case quality is your only problem not look at these two protective steel cases.
