What's in the box?
The screen features a 5-inch (130 mm) (sometimes stated as 4.99-inch[13]) PenTile RGBG Full HD Super AMOLED screen with 441 pixels per inch; it is made of Gorilla Glass 3.[14]
The S4 comes with either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, which can be supplemented with up to an additional 64GB with the microSD card slot.[15]
The S4 GT-I9505 includes a multiband LTE transceiver and both models feature an infrared LED that can serve as a universal remote control.[5]
Built into the 2600 mAh battery is near field communication (NFC) connectivity, which allows users to perform non-touch payments at shops that employ specially equipped NFC cash registers. The SC-04E model has a FeliCa secure element, unlike other models which contain an NFC-A secure element. The NFC-A secure element on the SC-04E is provided on the SIM card. The battery can be wirelessly charged using a Qi standard special charging pad (sold separately) that utilizes magnetic resonance to produce a magnetic field through which power can be transferred.
The Galaxy S4 supports the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) video format.[5][6][16]
In addition to the touchscreen, the S4 has several physical user inputs including a home button located near the bottom of the screen, at the bottom of the S4 is the primary microphone and the microUSB port for both data connections and charging; it also supports USB host and MHL 2.0. There are volume keys on the left side and a power/lock key on the right. At the top there is a 0.14-inch (3.6 mm) headphone jack, the secondary microphone, and infrared blaster. The backside of the S4 has the 13 megapixel camera lens and LED flash, and at the bottom left edge has the loudspeaker.[17]
The S4 features a sensor that when the the cover is closed, it displays on a screen window that allows view-through access to alerts and status. This sensor is utilized by the Samsung official accessory, the S View Cover.
What should I go with? Samsung Galaxy S3 or Nokia Lumia 720?
Q. I have a big dilemma about it. I have a few priorities, which I want my phone to fulfill. Please help me accordingly. Descriptive answers are welcome.
These are my needs:-
1) Friendly and fast interface.
2) Nice loud microphone and speaker for good quality calling. I had had a Micromax A57 in the past and its call quality is not worth mentioning.
2) Quick email and office stuffs. Saying that, what I mean is -- my emails should not have problem in sending attachments through my phone. Office stuffs means -- small presentation or word processor works.
3) A nice clear screen to read PDF eBooks, since I love to engage myself in reading something. So a good display of the books I read as PDF is a must.
4) Headphone quality should be awesome, since I am a music freak.
5) Camera -- it should be vibrant and I should be able to click pictures with ease and in awesome quality.
6) I don't have time to play games and whenever I have, I don't mind playing smaller ones. So I want something, which has a processor, which can run decent games.
7) The call and message alert is a big problem I faced while using android 2.3. My notifications used to be caged on the topmost corner in the android interface. So a phone, which can give a loud notification sound or some kind of alert is welcome.
Other than that, in short I can say is, all the basic features should be top class.
I can go for either of them. But some good advice will help me take the correct decision.
THANKS :)
A. android is much better than windows phone. yet do not remember android is deeply flexible and you can change every thing you want. every part you have problem with, can be replace with a widget or an app. but how about windows phone?
I am getting a lot microphone noise from my headphones.?
Q. When I wear my headphones/headset that came with my samsung Galaxy s4, I get noise when the microphone drags across my shirt collar and such. I'd like to know if there is some setting I can change in my options on my phone or something to reduce the noise from the mic.
A. Not really. This often happens depending on the quality of the microphone used.
You can use a wire wrapper or simply make a loop just below your chin to keep the mic off your collar.
Changing adjustments like sensitivity will work great in a quiet environment but the day you're out among people and/or traffic and people cant hear you, you'll probably feel like throwing the thing under a bus.
