Q. I have an iPad 2 and am using a Gumdrop, Drop Tech Case on it... I also purchase the Griffin 9' Charging Cable, but I have to take off the case for the cable to connect. Is there a LONG charging cable with a head the size of the iPad charger cord???
I hate modifying anything... but I remembered I had an old model car kit which included a pair of plastic cutters... I snipped off about an 8th of an inch from the plastic that sat too close to the top of the port. It actually worked and the hard shell snaps just fine and the rubber case does not cause any problem. I guess that solved my problem.... even though I don't like doing that type of adjustment to such an expensive item... it worked!! :-)
A. If the standard iPad cable works, perhaps you could get a USB extension cable and connect the two to get the length you require.

but I read it does not have a usb port so if I wanted to charge it how would I do that as the plug I guess would be a usa one
also without usb will I still be able to transfer files video clips and text files from my pc to the ipad
