Q. I canât tell, it sounds like it does. The picture sows a keyboard and the description sounds like it but Iâm not entirely sure.
A. The official iPad Keyboard Dock is top one on the top of the iPad accessories list and it's what you need to invest in should you wish to use Apple's new tablet computer as a regular desktop-style screen. It combines a dock for charging your iPad with a full-size keyboard, featuring a number of special keys that activate iPad features.
It looks superb, featuring an anodized aluminum enclosure with low-profile keys. Special iPad keys provide one-touch access to the Home screen, Spotlight search, display brightness, picture frame mode, the onscreen keyboard, and screen lock.

How to use Ipad Keyboard dock, it is not connecting to the Ipad?
Q. While plugging the keyboard to the IPad, nothing happens. How to make it work?
A. The iPad keyboard dock problem is a known design flaw. It's been around since last year when many users had to reconnect the iPad to the keyboard dock multiple times before they could make it work. The problem is with the dock, not the iPad.
One option is to get it replaced by calling Apple. The other (which worked for me) is to insert a plastic ruler between the keyboard dock and the back of the iPad. This ensures that the iPad stands erect and doesn't get randomly disconnected from the dock.
Apple iPad Air Dock on the iOS 7 Home screen - What does this App Software Dock do?
Q. I'm not talking about iPad & iPhone docks from Hi-Rise / iHome / Belkin / Everdock; the keyboard dock, charging dock or wireless speakers like Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin. I mean the iOS 7 app Dock on the iPad's homescreen. What's it for?

A. The Dock in Apple iPad Air is a translucent bar at the bottom of the Home screen (the screen that appears when you first turn on your iPad Air).
The purpose of the Dock is to hold up to 6 of the most frequently used apps on your tablet device (there's space for 4 apps on the iPhone and 6 apps on the iPad). You can pin those apps to the home screen dock.
The Dock itself stays static and does not change as you swipe across the app pages. This makes it useful for shortcuts to Safari, Mail, Video, Music or security apps.
