Q. I want a new regular kindle, not a kindle fire, not a kindle touch, a new regular kindle. How much is that?
A. Kindle 4------$79 w/ special offers, $109 w/out special offers.
Kindle Keyboard 3G-----$139 w/special offers, $189 w/out special offers.
I don't see why you don't want a kindle touch. They're pretty awesome. Though if you insist on not getting a touch screen that leaves you with the kindle 4 and the kindle keyboard (previously known as the kindle 3). The big difference is that the kindle keyboard has a physical qwerty keyboard and the kindle 4 has an onscreen one that you control with the 5 way controller and it is in alphabetical order. I've found that the kindle keyboard has better screen contrast, so that the whites are whiter so that the fonts are crisper. It also helps that body is black rather than a gray so its easier to read.
The Kindle 4 can connect to wifi only and that is how you would download books, but the kindle keyboard has built in free 3g so you can use it's browser or buy and download books anyplace you go and the 3g is completly free.
Just explore a little more and look around. I'll give the amazon website for this below, but the kindles have working models available at walmart, bestbuy, and target.
When does Kindle III come out?
Q. I am interested in a kindle II but I don't want to be out dated so I want to know when kindle III comes out.
A. Kindle III is actually Kindle DX, and it will be available this summer. I owned the Kindle II, and for me I still prefer Kindle II over Kindle DX. Actually, I think the Kindle DX may not be such a good idea for girls because it is really a bit big... Right now I can still fit the Kindle 2 into my purse and bring it everywhere, but with the Kindle DX I may need a larger bag when I want to bring it out, and that will be quite troublesome.
Kindle DX should be good if you want to use it for reading newspaper or large books. But actually I've used the Kindle 2 to read some large books and it isn't such a big problem. Just change the font size and I can read it well.
Since you are thinking about to get one, I've read a good article previously about how to get most out from the investment of the Kindle 2:
http://www.speedreaderxreview.com/is-kindle-2-worth-the-price
And I remember I read this review at that time when I decided to get my Kindle 2:

Hope this helps.
Kindle edition verses actual book version...?
Q. I was browsing amazon for a book I wanted to buy and found it. But underneath was the same book but the "Kindle Edition" which was cheaper. I've seen Kindle Edition books on there several times but I thought those were just books exclusively from Kindle or something. What is the difference between the two? Is the Kindle version different? Shorter? .........I have Kindle on my phone and have several books on there but the whole Kindle edition thing is a slight mystery to me
A. Kindle Edition is the book in a format that Kindle uses. They can't just take a books and somehow send it through the ether to be received on a Kindle, they have to digitize it first so the Kindle can "read" it. I don't know what method they use to Kindlize a book but it isn't always done well--you'll sometimes find a LOT of typos, sometimes pages missing, etc. I think it depends on who proofreads the Kindle Edition before it is released to the public (some people are better at it then others). Theoretically, the Kindle Edition should be, wordwise, exactly the same as the paper book, just made so the Kindle can access it.
