MARC BY MARC JACOBS PURSE NATASHA OR LIL UKITA?
Q. i know both purses are very similar but give me your opinions on both on what you like better as well as colors for each! or if you have other suggestions! also your opinions on marc by marc jacobs vs michael michael kors, kate spade, tory burch....
A. Everything I'm about to post about is my opinion of both the Natasha and Lil Ukita purse as well as some of the designers you've asked about.
First off I have both the Natasha and Lil Ukita bag, not trying to brag at all! Just stating my opinion in hopes to help anyone that is curious about marc by marc jacobs purses. For an everyday bag I believe the Ukita is better fit for that because it has the opinion of using both the shorter handle or crossbody strap when your busy running errands or shopping. The Natasha bag only has the crossbody strap which is convient but if your ever in a crowded area like I am, the Ukita shorter strap comes in handy so that you can hold your purse closest to you.
The pros of the Natasha bag has to be the zip compartment located on the flap the bag. It's the entire backside of the purse so it's large enough to store a camera, feminine products, wallet (if your afraid of ever getting pick pocketed) or cell phone. The size of the Natasha I would say is medium size, I'm 5"2 so the purse fits perfectly and has adjustable straps that complements both short or taller women :) for color I have the Natasha in hazelnut with silver hardware. Ideally, I had the chance to choose a different color I would definitely choose the black with gold hardware because I typically always go back to black and it seems less noticeable if there happens to be any scuffs or scratches. Any lighter color ie: coral, blush, rain slicker yellow or cream typically gets dirtier or NOTICABLLY dirtier than colors that are darker. My sister has the smaller fran shopper tote in blush (a light pink color also gorgeous!) and from wearing denim jeans the blue color dye has faintly rubbed onto the purse and its been cleaned but you can still see where the blue has rubbed. The same thing happened to my hazelnut Natasha you can see slight blue from rubbing against jeans but its not too noticeable.
As for the Ukita, Iike I stated earlier I love that there's two different straps so you can choose to either unhook the crossbody strap or leave it on and tucked inside until you decide you need it. What I do is leave the crossbody on because I've found it easy to misplace it when you take it off. (I think that's just my personality, I don't keep good track of where I store things hehe). The Ukita is bigger than the Natasha, but both purses can store a lot of things not like a clutch. I have stored my wallet, iPhone, keys, sunglasses+ case, feminine products for when aunt flow comes, and my ipad. As you can see it can hold a lot in both of them and it doesn't seem heavy to carry around. My opinion is the same for color, if your a clean freak like I am and don't like seem imperfections than I would choose darker colors like dirty martini, carob brown, rum, black but if you want a statement piece to add to your wardrobe go with the nice reef blue color that is what I believe it to be sea green, coral but every girl needs that ONE pink bag, or my all time favorite cinnamon stick which is a nice toasted light brown with hints of orange.
As for designers, I typically stay away from Michael kors because his designs for purses aren't my style. I hope no one is offended by my opinions.. I don't particularly like any purse with designer logos stamped all over the bag. I like my purse to be as suttle as possible. Which is why I don't like coach too much, I don't like the patterned C's or coach logo on the outside which is why I love MBMJ because the interior lining is done that way and the outside remains simple and classy. Tory burch is nice however I dislike the patent leather bags. I have yet to find a kate spade purse that I am dying to have but as for her wallets you can't go wrong with a kate spade wallet. The way she designs her wallets really catches my attention because of the numerous credit card and cash slots. I carry a lot of coupons and hoard my receipts and they all fit in my kate spade wallet without feeling bulky or too heavy.
I hope this gives you a better understanding of the differences between the two. Let me know if you have any other questions. Would love to help out a fellow fashionista!
Ipad 4 or Ipad mini for undergrad/grad school?
Q. I am a senior in college and am looking to purchase some sort of Ipad. I would like to use it to take notes in classes and read scientific papers on. I am applying to grad schools and would be using it for similar functions then as well. I would also like to use it to watch movies and surf the internet. I am not a huge app person. Portability wise- I haven't decided if it matters. I wouldn't put it in my jacket but definitely a backpack or purse. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions??
A. I would consider the ipad 3, what is the difference between the 4 versus the 3? Not much. Why spend the money on a 4 then? Actually the 2 and 3 should be in play and the mini off the table. You know why? Screen size. Why pay the money for a smaller screen when you can have a larger screen for the same amount? If you do a little digging the difference between the aforementioned generations is the processors. The ipad 2 has the A5 chip, the 3 has the A5x chip and the 4(mini) has the A6 chip. If you want to know the difference between them it is speed and power, though none are a weakling. So when you look at it that way these three chips are capable of being relevant for years to come, despite the different versions of ipads.
The best buy for the money is a refurbished ipad 2 or 3 with a full Apple warranty. You will save 10-15% off sticker and have the backing of Apple as if brand new. If you have money to burn then get the mini however, it does nothing more, but a smaller screen size which does not translate into a better view. Isn't that the case with flat screen tvs? Riiight.
Whatever you decide, enjoy.
