You need to setup your payment method of your Amazon account, even if everything you get is free. You can get any apps or digital content to your Amazon account with your computer. They'll show up on your Kindle Fire.
Vertical reading with Kindle app for iPad?
Q. I have an iPad mini, and my wife wants to use it for reading books. I bought her a book on Amazon, and downloaded the Kindle app so she could read it.
The problem - When the book displays, it only allows her to read it by holding the iPad sideways. (Horizontally.) She doesn't want to hold it that way. She wants to hold it vertically. Other books I've gotten can be rotated by 90 degrees any which way you want, but not this book.
Is this a common thing - only being able to read an e-book horizontally? Does this happen with some e-books but not others?
Most important - If there are some books that can only be read horizontally, is there a way to know this before buying it?!?

A. All of the Kindle books I've purchased are read in a vertical book page style. But I mainly buy books that are all plain text with a few small illustrations.
There is a way for a publisher to force landscape mode. And I don't know of any indication when you purchase the book.

Kindle app on android? Help!!!?
Q. I use the kindle app on android and I got a new phone that is also an android so I logged into my new kindle app and all my books are there but when I click to read one it says 'the book could not be opened. Plase remove the book from your device, and download it again'
How do I do that?? Please help!!!!!
A. when inside the kindle app long press on the book you want to remove and a option menu should pop up that has things like....Go to last page read, Go to beginning, etc.
Look for "Remove from device" at the bottom of the list.
This will add it to archived items.
Now hit the options button for kindle so that the little option bar appears at the bottom of the screen.
Look for "Archived Items" and open it.
Find the book you want to re-download and click it.
And you book should now be back on your phone.
