BTW: The battery is not dead, when i get mails it makes a sound
A. The Black Screen of Death has been a problem with Samsung products for several years. They have yet to provide a fix. This works some of the time.
Remove the battery. Count to ten, and then replace the battery and turn it on. If it comes on, let it update and then use as normal.
If this did not get your device working again, take it to the Samsung dealer.
To prevent future occurrences of the Black Screen of Death, turn your Samsung device off once a day so it can clear what ever is causing the problem. Most people reboot when they plug the device into the charger each day.
samsung galaxy 10.1 tab charging issues?
Q. Hi I am having problems with my samsung galaxy tab 10.1 not charging, I only have the usb wall socket charger I have misplaced the original packaging with the wall charger. ( I bought this in usa).
At present my tab seems to just keep re-booting on the usb charger - yellow battery half filling then closing down - over and over - any ideas what I can do to fix this problem?
A. Based on what I am reading in this link it sounds as if a usb charger will do the job just fine for your needs.

Samsung galaxy note 10.1 not charging properly?
Q. I used to get home at 4:pm when my tablet is on 15% battery life and be able to charge it while using it at full brightness and while i used it, it would continue to charge. But now when i use it even on power saver mode with the brightness almost all the way down. It is incredibly slowly losing charge. I haven't dropped it or anything, does anyone know what's wrong?
A. While I can't solve your problem over the Internet, I can give you some troubleshooting steps and some possible advice. We encounter this problem a lot at Geek Squad.
The majority of the issues we see with charging is due to the Client not using an Official Samsung charger and data cable. There are known charging issues when a non Samsung branded brick and cord is used due to different voltages that can vary.
The issue may also be related to apps you are using. For instance, there is an app called GroupMe on Android based devices. A new update to the app caused Samsung Galaxy S III phones to lose battery life at an alarming rate. Check to make sure your apps are fully updated and consider removing some non essential apps to troubleshoot.
It's possible that a full factory reset would be the best bet to determine if an app is to blame.
If after all of this, you still have issues with battery life and charging, you might have a hardware problem on your hands. Usually hardware issues are due to the charging port / motherboard inside the tablet. These are usually covered under Manufacturer Warranty as long as there isn't damage to the tablet. In the event you suspect hardware damage, contact Samsung or take it to the place you bought it from if it's under a year old.
