Q. I'm buying a used phone -no contract- so I want something relatively new and good.
These two phones have similar specs, and I'm familiar with both. I just don't know what to choose.
I like the Nexus because it will be updated forever with Android.
I like the Samsung because it has a way better screen and some other specs.

A. Samsung I9000 Galaxy S
After using this phone for a week, I've fallen in love with it.
- Interface is very snappy.
- The screen is incredible. Very bright and the colours are outstanding, and just the perfect size.
- The AllShare app for playing content from a UPnP server is nice. At home, I can store my entire collection of music and videos and play whichever I want.

Q. which one would you pick now galaxy s3 costs for 430 while Nexus 4 costs for 430 usd as well
both are unlocked ....which one is more value for the money :P
A. Main advantage of the nexus 4 over s3 is cost...if both cost the same then I see no point in buying the Nexus 4.
Another advantage of Nexus 4 is you'll get the original Android version , and the software updates would be quick and directly from Google...But that won't matter much for normal usage...if you're a bit of a geek , it might bother you.
But I assume if you're a geek , you would know the answer already , you won't be asking here...
so I advise you to go for Galaxy S3

Q. I have truly fallen in love with the Nexus 4 and this would be the phone I would but if price wasn't a factor.. My options are to pay $200 for the Galaxy S3 with a new two year contract, or purchase the Nexus 4 for $350 without a contract. I plan on having the same carrier either way. I just cannot decide which phone I would like to purchase. I currently have $300 saved up and will shortly have enough to buy the Nexus 4.
A. Definitely Nexus 4! I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, SWEET phone and it does have pros like huge battery and stuff, however I like my Nexus 4 better for a number of reasons. One of the biggest differences would be that you are limited to what you can do with the S3. The Nexus 4 is unlocked, no contract, no bloatware, AND the NFC works great. NFC works good on my Note 2 but GOOGLE WALLET does not work on it, and I have heard that it does not work on the S3 either.
